I am very happy to announce the release of GammaOS Next v1.1.1 for the MANGMI Air X. This is the first official GammaOS build running on Android 14 and it comes with a huge list of improvements. 💥 What is new in v1.1.0?
This is the first GammaOS release based on Android 14 and LineageOS 21. It includes a wide range of new features, visual improvements, performance upgrades and device specific fixes for the MANGMI Air X.
Core System and Base
• Android 14 and LineageOS 21 with significant modern improvements
• Reduced background overhead and faster system responsiveness
• Updated security and graphics pipelines
Advanced Visual Features
• Global Shaders: CRT Simple and LCD3x are now included at a system level
• Full shader configuration from a long press on the Shader tile
• High DPI scaling and rotation behavior handled automatically
GammaRGB Joystick LEDs
• New effect modes, color formats and brightness controls
• Long press the RGB tile to access advanced LED options
• Better color accuracy and more reliable LED triggering
Improved Navigation and UI
• Immersive Mode enabled by default for a console like experience
• Taskbar and status bar are hidden until swiped from an edge
• Fix for the task switcher not responding to touch
Audio and Performance
• GammaEQ backend added to improve audio control (UI coming soon)

Device Specific Fixes for MANGMI Air X
• Updated graphics driver to the 2025 revision (stock is 2024)
• Fixed Netflix DRM so playback and Netflix based games work correctly
• Corrected panel behavior to run at a stable 60 Hz
• Optimized CPU governor and thermal behavior
• Smoother animations and reduced micro stutter
• Better overall performance on both Full and Lite editions
🔥 Recommendation
For the best experience, I strongly suggest using the *GammaOS Lite* version. It removes Google services and delivers higher performance, smoother framerates and better battery life.

Hi everyone, I have become aware of a THIRD variation of the hardware which has a new touchscreen. A new build based on GammaOS Next v1.2 will be uploaded this weekend to support all three hardware revisions.

As far as I can tell (no expert) you need to use the Qualcomm “qfil” tool which is windows only.

Hello. First off love what you are doing. Unfortunately this build (full) had an issue for me, after installation the touchscreen no longer worked. Fixed by reinstalling Mangmi firmware for MQ65 devices. No idea if helpful but I couldn't figure out how to get past the gamepad configuration screen without touchscreen, I was navigating ok otherwise using the controller, so I had no idea whether I had an MQ66 or MQ65 serial number so I randomly tried the MQ66 firmware from mangmi and that exhibited the same issue of no touchscreen, however I could get into settings ok to confirm M65 serial. Flashing MQ65 firmware got the touchscreen working again. If there's anything else useful I could provide lmk.

Awesome work, thanks! Seeing the work here with the Mangmi has inspired me to pick programming up again.I Do have 1 issue - Uploading the Dolphin core led to worse performance and loss of progress - how would I learn/know/return to the original core packaged with Gamma 1.1.1 without a full reinstall?

You are the only person to report this issue, everyone else seems fine. Can you share a video of what you're doing?

The download files are corrupted — I cannot unzip anything. Tried 7-Zip and WinRAR, multiple browsers, multiple laptops. Every ZIP (Full + Lite) fails instantly with a corruption error and never asks for the password. I need help ASAP or please refund the $10.00, because the files are unusable in their current state.
