Great reaction as always! The Talisman only works if the windows and Doors stay close! If they are "invited in" or if the space is not enclosed, they don't work. Similar to season 2 I think when that guy fell in love with that monster and she kept asking him to open the window and once he did, she was able to get in.

my questions is who created the talismans and how does it prevent the monsters from coming in the house. There’s no way the government is involved this has to be a supernatural/superdimensional type thing

Just like when the little girl opened the window in the 1st episode of season 1, it seems as though once you invite one of the monsters in the talisman stops working.
