I honestly think this entire album was a mixture of HEAVY drug abuse and trying to self-sabotage his career, he kept getting critic for not being suitable for kids when none of his music was ever advertised for kids so he made a goofy drugged up album where he gave no fucks at all, and I think he also said that he was at a point where he felt he had nothing of essence to write about. Years later he's even expressed he was so off the drugs during these years that he doesn't even remember writing or recording like 95% of this entire album.

Got it on cassette tape so not all the songs were on it and some of it i dont even remember. But i feel like most of the songs was just a fuck you to all the people trying to cancel him and trying to control him. I’ve not seen anyone explain Eminem’s 3 kids and I think it’s so important because it really shows the type of person he is. I’m watching this reaction in parts though so apologies if chat tells you this later in the reaction. So, you already know about Hailie, his bio daughter with Kim, but he has 2 other daughters too. Alaina (Lainey- that’s also in the Mockingbird video) and Stevie. So Lainey is his niece, Kim had a twin sister, Dawn and Lainey is her daughter, but she was really badly addicted to drugs, in an out of prison and in a bad way. So Em adopted Lainey when she was really young and brought her up as his daughter. Stevie (who was previously called ‘Whitney’ but changed her name to Stevie a few years ago and is non-binary) is actually Kim’s bio daughter from an affair she had while still married to Em. Em also adopted Stevie and brought her up as his daughter. You’ll see him also talking about his younger half brother Nate. He was in the care system, so as soon as Em was able, he took him out of care and moved him in with Em and his family, I think Nate was around 10 at the time.

I def appreciate not sugar coating your reactions. I agree that this album is the weakest so far. My faves are definitely Mosh and Mockingbird, but I'll forgive you for not liking Mosh. Another song I'd recommend that's somewhat similar to Mockingbird is When I'm Gone. It's only on his "greatest hits" album so you won't come across it on your album reviews, but I highly recommend it.

Bro not gonna lie… I thought you would appreciate his humor more lol. He apologizes for this album and relapse in one of his songs on recovery. I won’t keep quoting the drug thing everyone else repeatedly keeps saying lol. Another thing to remember, when this came out we didn’t have ratings and reviews as much as we do now. I was just excited to get another one of his albums. These were hilarious but definitely made me happy when recovery came out and he comes out punching. I dedicated puke to a couple of ex gfs and that went over great lmao. You had to be there, I guess. Even with troll songs, you gotta admit, he’s still does better than most lol. You need to hurry past the next album and get back to his hard music. I would say skip revival, I can’t stomach that one no matter how many times I try to listen to it with an open mind lol. Kim got into that crash trying to ualive herself. She deals with pretty severe depression. Her own parents were addicts I believe. She's tried to take her life many times =/ Em still cares for her, not that way anymore but yeah. They get along decent enough now. Full context for why the album is like this(also whoever told you this was no skip was either lying or on one) : 1- A third of the songs leaked and were replaced with all the dumb songs you hear on the final version. 2- he was deep into his drug addiction by this point. You can hear it even on the good tracks, his voice is more slurred and he’s not quite as sharp. Especially noticeable on the bad/troll songs. Ambien and opioids. He got more lucid 2005. But got way worse 2006-2007. 2009 onward is when all his sober music was/is being made. Encore IS his worst album next to revival(2017).

Watching now. FYI Eminem actually wrote an autobiography of his life around the Relapse era. In it he talks about Like Toy Soldiers and how he felt like he doomed proof by using him as the victim in that video. It made him feel guilty as if it doing that led to his death since he passed the same way. The book is called The Way I Am (duh)
