I finally watched this at the weekend... Really enjoyed it, and it was not at all what I expected! One of the things I liked was that Gawain isn't really very heroic, and comes across as really naive, like his inability to deal with the scavenger & how he completely misses what was obviously a threat of violence from him when he dismisses him and rides off. And his questioning of St Winifred ("what's in it for me?")! Not to mention how he skips his... responsibilities... to Bertilak. But I guess the story is how he changes over the course of his adventures.
