My daughter and I got helix piercings at the same time. Mine healed rather fast, but her ‘s didn’t. I asked what was going on, and she said she was catching the piercing in her brush. She had minor hypertrophic scarring, but it took a year to heal. So like you said, if you keep pulling at a piercing, it will take forever to heal
