Tuna Coin Bag
🕑 Added 2022-08-09 16:05:41 +0000 UTCHi fish fries!!! I'm super excited to start showing these really cute coin bags/purses I've been thinking about since last year!! The original concept came from these fish bags I designed towards the end of last year--I wanted to try to plan them for release for 2023 but I'm not super confident about how I feel about the design so I just wanted to try out the coin bags at least!
The coin bags were supposed to match with the original crossbody bag, so if I ever make them, the idea would be to be able to take a little meat slice from inside the fish haha!
I got one sample made for now (the dark red meat made to match the bluefin tuna bag!) and figured for the bag sample it'd be super cute to have some matching fish bone zippers with them as well!
With choosing PU leather colours, I found it was really difficult to match the original colour I picked in my original drawing--but I ended up going with a really nice deep vibrant red similar to how red tuna meat is in real life! The photos below (both in first draft and the final) are actually both the same colour (minus the exception of the lines which I changed between first and final draft!), just the lighting makes the colour vary really wildly! I'll be sure to take some photos once I receive the sample in person as well!
Some changes I made from first to final draft:
- Colour change for the streak colour in the meat (the original colour was way too bright so I opted for something that would match more!)
- Making the streak line thickness to match/have the same consistency as the front view.
- Zipper from gold to silver (both outter and inner zippers)
Originally really wanted the lines to flow and connect from the front to the side and onto the back like real fish meat but I found that it was really hard... to coordinate and plan out the design on my end (I just don't have enough brain cells to compute where the lines would go LMAO) but thankfully the designer was also able to work with me to help me figure it out by printing out and arranging a paper copy before making an actual physical version to help with the lines, so I hope this detail will really stand out when this coinbag is released!
I'm wondering if I want to release these first and then the bags later? Or release them with the bags at the same time π if you have a preference, please let me know as well! I'll also be starting samples of the new bags hopefully sometime this year so I can have them ready for next year too π Thank you so much for staying tun(a)ed as always and sea you soon!
