Being a real man when masculinity is discouraged

I think that the ideal of manliness as being strong and sensitive is spot on. I think judging a man by the progeny he produces is a weak but persistent idea. A friend who felt emasculated because he could not have children was actually onee of my mentally strong friends. He and his wife should have adopted kids.

I also think "masculinity" will survive just fine. We're all different for a reason, and I don't think we'll ever get to a point that all humanity is so homogeneous that we won't have plenty of men who are stereotypically "masculine".
