A pattern I started seeing when I was a young man is how certain things pander to people who have or feel as is they have a lack of control in their lives, promising control but only providing an illusion of control. I first noticed this in things like astrology and biorhythms. It almost doesn't matter if it doesn't work, lot's of people are satisfied with the illusion. But the pattern is everywhere, and the people who fall for it are those who are most emotionally or mentally vulnerable. And the people offering it are doing so for their own gain, whether they are fully aware of it or not. (They have often bought into it themselves.) Hearing this story about the therapist and Andrew Tate makes me think of this pattern, only it's an exchange between someone (Tate) who *doesn't* believe he has a lack of control in his life (except maybe when he was arrested) and the therapist, who is treating Tate as if he is like one of his typical control-seeking clients.
