It was about time. I know :D
We couldn't do it before, not a really comprehensive one. We didn't know if the game was going to follow the really cool ideas we had for the mechanics, the story, combat, lenght... We just couldn't know if it was doable yet. We didn't know if you guys would support us... The game is really ambitious guys, and I have learnt the hard way not to get too excited beforehand.
Well shit, I'm excited. And very.
We have been working on the combat system this couple of days. We have a simple turn-based mechanic working, reminiscent of classic JRPGs (like the Final Fantasy series, my beloved Chrono Trigger, or Grandia) but with a Ben 10 twist that fits perfectly the story and the TV series' lore. It is simple, but effective, and more importantly, it's already fun.
Once we test the combat a hundred million times (and I include you guys in there when the alpha comes out), we'll know if the cool things we thought of adding to it will add or take value from the system and with that, we will decide if to expand it, or leave it like it is.
Still excited, I swear, hehe. I'm just tired. (it's 5:20 AM and I still haven't slept) Onward!
LIST OF STUFF THAT'S DONE:
- The main game mechanics were. designed.
- The plot was written.
- A LOT of sketches were done.
- The main characters have all been given expressions (we have like 20 for Shar alone), some basic clothes and underwear, some extra customization bits and boob... er... bobs. Cum and sweat and tears were painted. And shed.
- Lots of UI was carefully designed and done. Then discarded. Then done again.
- Dildoes and penises were drawn. Veins painted. Also vaginas. Giggles ensued.
- We made a wardrobe for Gwen!
- We released a demo! It was... ok. But not at all what the game should be.
- All of the story and sex scenes planned for the game, from intro to ending were decided.
- The dialog for the intro and days 1 to 3 was written.
- Some dialog from different scenes later on in the game were written as well.
- All those backgrounds were drawn, inked, painted... so many yet to do though!
- The game was coded up to day 2. Also most of the game's main mechanics. Bugs were obliterated. Ideas thrown to the garbage, frustration shared, coffee drank. It's tiresome but also fun (I luv it).
- The basic combat system was coded.
- The basic UI for the combat was done (still some stuff to do, like hit effects).
- The art for Ben (combat) and Liam the chicken (combat) is done
- We have a bit of music and sound (Kdot's new mic is proving useful!)
- This post is being written.
- You are reading it.

Fine, seriousness.
The pre-production is done then. It was fun to design everything, but it's even better to see the game is becoming a real thing, little by little!
There's tons and tons of stuff to do, but about half of what is going to be in the first alpha is done (the first 3 days that you will spend in the game). We are working hard and with a steady pace now, making us go much faster than this past couple of months. And painting and coding alien scum is fun.
We are really looking forward to share the first Alpha of the game with all of the people who have supported us, given us ideas, talked to us, made us laugh (and cringe), and are excited about Ben X.

We started separate accounts because we knew we'd both have more projects later on, maybe separately. This way we can "sort of" track how much each of us gets, and work out the amount each of us should get. It might seem like a hassle, but it's actually really helpful for us

We still don't know. We need to take other jobs while we do this for the moment. If enough of you would support us, we could reject any other kind of paid work and we'd be able to make a solid plan. You can help us go faster by spreading the word about the game and make more people interested in it!

Great to see more updates again...But just to ask, is there going to be any form of pregnancy in the game? I think there was a poll for it a while back, but i cant remember..

Trying to be! :) It's nice that someone around knows the amount of time this kind of game can take. It's hard for most people to imagine that a background alone means 6-8 hours of work! Let alone all the cool stuff we want to do with Ben X

Off the top of my head, you have Gwen (Ben 10, Alien Force and Omniverse versions), Charmcaster and Shar (who I think is an original character). Alas, I don't think Julie or Kai are in, especially since they've finished writing the plot and everything, and adding more characters would probably be a hassle.

i am so glad Ben 10 is getting the love it deserves, especially omniverse! loved the demo but i am curious how many girls are in the game. i me Ben has a lot of ladies in is life.
