Very late to the gooncast but thank you for a great discussion. Inspired me to go after the platinum in ng+.

Finally got to listen. I really love Stellar Blade also. Colin kind of mentioned it but why did people try to say this game is a souls like but I never hear that about the latest Jedi games?

I love Gene’s humor

Something they touched on during the conversation was the prospect of a cross-over between Nier or Horizon with Stellar Blade; I really do think they would do a cross-over with Nier, especially because Shift-Up has already done a cross over with Nier and their game mobile game GoF:Nikke. I actually played that event and thought the cross-over was good, and that also makes me think they probably have sales numbers during that event. So maybe they'd have some sort of idea of what the cross over would bring them. Just a thought, loved hearing everyone's thoughts about the game. Good to know I was in good company.

What? 6/10? That's insane, the main character is pretty cool especially during the end and the combat system is amazing, character and enemy design is awesome. The story is not the best but still pretty good. Anything below 80 should be illegal, easily a high 80s game. The journos lowballed the game, I guess it's some prejudice against Koreans because lies of P also got an 80 metacritic which is insane since it also was an easy high 80s...

Do not be afraid to utilize those guns! The Shotgun especially can stun bigger enemies and bosses for a few moments to get quick damage in similar to the grenades, I’m in Hard mode NG+ having a great time.

Nope.

Wut.

Stellar Blade is better than Nier Automata, and I am tired of pretending it's not.

My favorite outfit is the “Kill Bill” yellow jumpsuit. It says “Kill Kill” on the shoulder. I’m rocking this one till the end.
Have you considered considering considerations considerately considerate
Nier automata never did it for me. It’s probably because 2b is Loli coded.

The demo completely turned me off of the game, so when everybody was even more amped after I was like wtf? 😅

The song that plays when you activate Tachy mode is a fucking banger.

I understand where the criticism of Dustin being "negative" is coming from, but I don't agree with it. I think during these shows the more "dominate" personalities spend so much time singing the games praises and going into so much detail that by the time it gets to Dustin he's like "yeah I agree with all that, and now here are the few things that I didn't like." So it's not really fair to judge his overall opinion by that standard

I’m still ploughing my way through this, it’s much bigger than I expected! The combat is so addictive, partying a sequence of attacks never fails to be satisfying.

Stellar Blade: Hot Main Character with barely a personality along with most NPCs. HORRIBLE dialogue. Frustrating level design at times. Side missions are NOT GOOD, except for a small amount. Saves all the AMAZING STUFF TIL THE VERY END. 6/10 for me, personally. First time I agree with IGN wholeheartedly in a while !

Fun game with a subpar story, and fairly easy platinum. An experience propped up by its combat (solid while perhaps overstated in depth), aesthetic, and soundtrack. Overall, greater than the sum of its parts - I enjoyed my time with it. Very excited to dig into this episode, and hear what the fellas have to say.

Gonna lose my mind if no one shares my opinion that the combat is…eh
