I like be Colin but have to disagree on one thing. Seinfeld is not very good. I tried multiple times to watch and didn’t care for it. Office is much much better and can easily watch clips of it everyday and enjoy it.

Colin should definitely play Deep Rock Galactic, it sounds like exactly what he's looking for. I personally enjoy it a whole lot more than HD2, though only time will tell if this opinion holds up as HD2 receives updates in the future.

I'm just going to say it. Turned base combat and old school level grinding is mind numbingly boring. I will never play FF7. I have watched multiple in depth story breakdowns on YouTube. That's the best you're gonna get.

This was exactly my thought, I feel like a huge part of the success of HD2 is that fact that it specifically isn't like any of the other major GAAS out right now. PVE, collaborative co-op, bare minimum reasonable mtx. This is the first multiplayer game I've played for more than 10 minutes since the original MW2 when I was in high school, and this game pulled me out of single player space. I think chasing the trend of current live service is a losing battle, instead set the trend. Make a good, fun game and people will (as evidenced by the rampant success of helldivers) will bend over backwards to pay for it.

Looking forward to listening. Just wondering though; do you have plans to talk about games on specific systems such as Steam Deck? I think that’s a really interesting talking point given the success Valve have had and the potential. The OLED Deck has changed the way I play games, and they look stunning. Quick resume, OLED display, HDR, good battery and HDR on PS5 remote play! It really changes gaming and so it’s interesting to hear views like when Chris loved playing MGS V on his Deck.

Thanks for the advice on the sports games lads. Went in on the most recent madden. I Know it was pretty shit canned with bad reviews but it was on sale for about $25 here. I’m not engaging in the ultimate team stuff, just making and playing custom games and already having a blast. Cheers.

Also if helldivers 2 isn’t what Sony is looking for in live service then mind as well just give up on it now. This is as well as it’s going to go imo. Chasing the next “Fortnite” style is idiotic because you’re just gonna lose money investing into looking while never actually finding anything. This game is pulling in people who are notoriously single player gamers exclusively. A fortnight style game isn’t gonna do that.

I think Arrowhead has said that the split between PC and PS5 players for Helldivers 2 is pretty close to 50:50.

Leave it to Colin to be the Debbie downer on Helldivers 2 success. If the game ends up selling 10 million copies, and on average players spend an additional 5$ on cosmetics this game wouldn’t just be a success it would be a smash hit. How much did it cost to make? They would make more profit on this than Spider-Man 2. Don’t start discounting a game’s success so soon when it’s in the zeitgeist! Sure Sony wants Fortnite. Well.. lol, good luck with that Sony, knock yourself out.

Honestly, regarding HD2 The game is awesome but this kinda feels like an Early Access period. There are a lot of small issues that should have been cleaned up in a beta. Ever since Friday morning, the game has been in such a state that one of the devs tweeted out a recommendation to not purchase it right now, and to wait until server capacity is addressed, and there’s a list of other basic issues on top of the server madness.

Hoeg!! What you said about the “sins of the father” in regards to console failures is exactly what I think is happening to the Xbox Series X. This kinda answers Chris’ question from a few episodes ago where he didn’t understand why even though the Xbox Series X is a way better machine than the One X that it’s selling almost as bad.
