Constellation, Episode 64 | Our Memories, Funniest Movies, Environmentalism, Pitch a Reality Show
🕑 Added 2024-03-25 16:00:07 +0000 UTCWelcome once again to Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast! This week's fearsome foursome bring a variety of fun and thought-provoking topics to discuss: Belgium's favorite son, the mighty Lockmort, gets things started with a bit of welcome nostalgia by inquiring about our earliest and happiest memories. Next, Dustin wants to talk about the movies that make us laugh. Which film comedies stand as our favorites and which ones do we think get overlooked? Colin takes a page out of Woodsy Owl's book (look it up) and would like to engage with the group concerning the environment. How do we feel about what we're doing to take care of the planet, and how can we do better? Finally, Dagan plays Constellation Creative Director and asks the gang to pitch him a Reality TV Show. Don Draper would be proud.

Thank you for the reminder, I need to watch Foot Fist Way. Love Danny McBride

The Moriarty Bros love to take it up the rear

I think that Colins turmoils of 2020 are the reason Colin cherishes the last of us 2 so so so much

Here to say I prefer Colin to be on all the episodes, just being honest.

Jared and Jerusha Hess are so good! Love their films

A whole discussion about comedies and no mention of Napoleon Dynamite or Nacho Libre?! Come on!

Knockback suggestion, watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall then Get Him To The Greek. Top it off with the Infant Sorrow album which is Aldous Snows fictional band from the movies.

One of the most underrated movies of all time is The Comebacks. It’s one of those parody movies. The running back being named Aseel Tare (ACL Tear) is absolutely hilarious.

“When the fuck did we get ice cream?” - The Ringer
Gabriel Baker
I prefer Colin hosting

Jury Duty is the spiritual successor to The Joe Schmo show. Both great.

Part of what disgusts me about this big environmental push is how obvious so much of it is about money. Companies see it as the 2nd oil boom they have to jump on. Both those selling the new infrastructure, but worse large investment firms like Blackrock that have hundreds of billions in investments tied into it. And don't get me wrong, I grew up rural. I love nature, and find trees soothing. But there is a danger in pushing for environmental policies based on greed and not the right reasons.

I prefer Colin on the episodes. I like how honest he is.

Big shoutout to Lock, you did an amazing job. Always look forward in hear what you have to say.

Great episode, and I'm glad there was a counterpoint to the whole "pick up your trash, poors" argument. Shit was a pretty tone-deaf. It's hard to give a fuck about a pile of trash or an abandoned house when you don't know where your next meal is coming from. I hope there was at least a broadening of scope from that discussion.

Can we add time stamps for topics? I don’t think that’s too much to ask! Lol. Love it. I say Dagan fix this issue as new host. What say you Colin?

Favorite comedy: Dumb and Dumber Underrated comedy: Foot Fist Way (maybe more under appreciated) Recent comedy: Bad Trip

Colin, I know you have a lot of haters and people busting balls. However, I always enjoy you on the show. I even prefer you hosting but I know everyone loves Dagan and he is doing a fine job as well. Just wanted to put some love out there since you keep mentioning people thinking the show was “better” without you.
Colin Moriarty
Bustin’ Furman
Gray Gordon
Did anyone watch the Joe Schmo Show back in like early 2000’s? It was an all fake reality show except for one contestant that was not in on the bit. I remember the first season being ridiculous.
Tanner Denso
On Colin’s topic. For me, it’s the power line posts and telephone poles. Just put all that shit underground. I know it’s more expensive but it’s totally worth it.
Ryan Zimm
Gotta disagree with Loch.....What We Do In The Shadows the show is far better than the movie. Hell, it is better just for human bartender, Jackie Daytona, alone!
Sir Poops McGuffin
Great episode loved the movie chat and the environmentalists thoughts . Only thing that gets to me is the other listener’s comments in here 😂 I need to stop reading .

So happy Colin brought up Caddyshack. All time favorite for me.

I’ve also had to say goodbye to a dog after a breakup, it still hurts.

This episode sucked. All it was was every host going off about how they haven’t seen ________ and saying that they’re “just so out of touch” with the inference being it’s because they’re just so “above” it. It’s not fun to listen to. It amounts to the lamest and lowest bar of conversation at a work party where you want to connect with people but they’re in totally different pop culture spheres than you, and so you chat with them in a manner akin to chewing tin foil.

OMG yes. I am so glad you "gave" Dagan this show. I hope, Dagan, you put your own flavor on it as well. You are doing a great job and I think you are more talented than you believe in the realm of podcasting. I probably won't listen without Colin, but I am glad all of you can do more of what you want to do in the business.

I definitely prefer Colin to be on all of the episodes of constellation, but that’s me being selfish haha. Totally understand if it’s too much for him or if he might feel stretched thin, so he should do what makes him happy.
drew
Dustin you are so correct on the environment subject. On YouTube go watch the documentary Planet of the Humans.

"When you get to the doctor, you're gonna want to tell them you have a spiral fracture" The Nice Guys is by far the most underrated gem of a movie I've ever seen, Ryan Gosling was fantastic. Shout out to Hannibal Buress' cameo as the bee, always gets a good chuckle
Noah Friscopp
Nobody tell Dagan about Russell Brand
Bogey
Everyone needs to watch The Nice Guys. Incredible movie. Gosling killed it in that role.
Andy
Can we get timestamps on these episodes?

Stelly time!

Love constellations, and although it’s not what he wants to hear I do prefer Colin being on the episodes

Sounds like another great episode of The Dagster Show
Vagicarp, I choose you
God I fucking love Constellation
