he's just calling back to a comment he made on one of the political constellations on when he asked collin why trumpers/magas are predominantly a-holes. and it's a question worth exploring because more often than not it's the trumpers/magas who go on some unhinged racially charged diatribe on twitter and facebook. why are these people jerks? why can't they form a cogent argument without resorting to insults or name calling? so he was just re-iterating that in a passing comment here.

Every time Jaffe speaks on politics it reminds me of the Bubble Boy from Seinfeld. Jaffe is so far gone that he cannot see it even if it smacked him in the face. He doesn't hate republicans, but he hates MAGA? Maybe that's because standard run of the mill republicans and his democratic party are essentially the same uniparty. Send more money to foreign countries and bomb the whole world while middle and working class Americans struggle with increasing inflation and the side effects of cultural decline. Jaffe is so well off he cannot see that reality. He really truly thinks that he is morally superior to anyone who lives outside of Washington orthodoxy. I understand the man is funny and probably awesome to hang out with, but damn, his NPC like behavior to whatever the Party and CNN says is so obvious that anyone who escaped the bubble can see it a mile away. I was on the fence about buying BM: Wukong, but the more I heard about it the more it sounded like a game for me. Jaffe, if you see this thanks, man. This podcast encouraged me to pull the trigger and I fucking love the game. For an older guy like me it hearkens back to the days when I just picked up my controller and beat the living shit out of some baddies for a 1-2 hour session. It's a refreshing break from the sprawling open-world settings in most games these days. And it's gorgeous to boot.

The goal is to have better conversations and focus on what connects us, not alienate each other. A perfect example is Colin and Jaffe’s friendship — the politics don’t matter there and they shouldn’t. I just wish people wouldn’t alienate each other in such broad strokes (for example, I highly doubt that you think Colin is an asshole if you’re on this Patreon). Indeed, we could call each other much worse but we shouldn’t.

There are 2 Republican parties in my head. The Republican party of McCain, Romney, even the 2 Bushes. Heck, I was seriously considering throwing Kasich(Kasick?) a vote at one point. I would rarely vote for them but I don't hate them or think they are assholes; just people with VERY different takes on law than I have. Then there is MAGA (the party I was talking about). And yes, if you vote for MAGA at THIS point? There's a 95% chance you are a fucking asshole. And hell, that's not even true- a lot of it depends on what information you are using to vote. If you think 2025 is a meaningful document that Trump- knowingly or not- will enact, then you are an asshole. If you think it's all horseshit from the left and a smoke screen and you have no fear of Trump (or his appointed judges) supporting anything like that, then you are not an asshole.
