Not totally understanding the excitement for the Xbox showcase. Yea I get it, they showed a lot of games and some looked good but there sure were a lot of pure CG trailers and games with now release date in sight. Props to them for showing stuff but I feel like it was a whole lot of “hey look what we’re working on”.

Hey y'all, just a quick comment to Chris. I got your point about DLC and people having weird expectations about it sometimes... but they did have a horde mode type thing (Arcade Mode) in the Alan Wake American Nightmare, so it wouldn't be an unreasonable expectation to have, just in this case. Don’t get Chris on the modern audience thing. Devs of course have the best intentions but there’s plenty of executives making the decisions who don’t know how to reach as many players as possible. Jason S’s latest deep dive on Suicide Squad is another great example of that.

The big game that was amazing and came out at the wrong time that I'm surprised none of you mentioned was Titanfall 2. EA just sent it out to die. Seriously what game could survive being released a week after Battlefield 1 and a week before Call of Duty? I wonder what would have been if Titanfall 2 came out and had room to breath.

Dawg they literally vaulted the main campaign of the game. You cannot play through the story of destiny 2. That is a problem no matter how you slice it.

Have to disagree. Everything at the showcases were pretty lackluster with the exception of some indies, Lego Horizon. Idk what you guys see in Doom but this just screams shooter made for casuals and bone heads. Life as Strange is a better game than that. Maybe play some quality narrative titles instead of just souls and turn your brain off and just kill games.

Brad have you checked the 20 minute gameplay for Dragon Age: The Veilguard that just came out today? The tone looks totally different from that weird character reveal trailer we saw sunday and way more like classical Dragon Age. The environments showed in the gameplay were truly beautiful and the graphics were so good that even the character design of the game looked better imo. Gameplay really changed as expected already but I’m open minded about that, the tone after that trailer sunday truly made me worry but now after this gameplay and the previews that also dropped today it looks like BioWare might just be truly back.

Idk why people have a problem with destiny and the sunsetting of content. Do you enjoy 4 mins loading times and a 200+ gig file size? Because that’s what the sunsetting gets rid of. These sunsetted areas were dead on top of that. Watch My name is Byf if you want the lore if you need catching up, it’s done better than Bungie was able to anyhow
