Punching Up, Episode 32 | Emio's Big Reveal
🕑 Added 2024-07-17 19:16:28 +0000 UTCAfter Nintendo posted a YouTube video featuring a man with a bag on his head, fans were in deep speculation about what the company was up to. Could it be a new horror IP, or simply a fake-out for a much less sinister project? Today, the company revealed that it was all a lead-up to a new release in the Famicom Detective Club series, the first new entry since 1988. Our original recording just missed the window of the reveal, but we've adjusted with a pickup that's already inserted into the episode. Please enjoy!

Sorry to hear you feel mixed on XC2 Micah. I adored the story though the tone was admittedly all over the place, like you mentioned. For me it was the map, waypoint system, and affinity abilities that kept it from being a masterpiece in my mind. XC3 is incredible. Best of all the games imo.

I'm honestly surprised Micah ended up hating XBC2 ending section so much.

Dustin, the Mario Galaxy games work great on Dolphin through EmuDeck on Steam Deck. There are community controller profiles specific to the games and you can use the gyro aiming to shoot the star shines (instead of aiming a wiimote).

Best of luck, Dustin!

Eternal Sonata mentioned! I have such fond memories of that game.

Micah - great P4 reference - but the song in Persona is “Signs of Love” not life lol

Happy belated birthday to Micah. Maybe Colin took you to Cracker Barrel or you enjoyed some hot dogs. Either way I hope your day was awesome 🙌

Love seeing the Starfy games come to the GBA collection on Switch. The DS Starfy is a childhood favorite game of mine.

“Remember, no pop tarts” 🤣

Damn that is a gem. Yeah as far as I know it was an exclusive. Kinda wild that it came out in what 2005. And you couldn’t even play it online. Strange times.

You guys are awesome! I really don't have any desire for Nintendo games at this point in my life but love your podcast.

Speaking of Nintendo horror games I also remember playing Geist on the GameCube I’m not sure if it was exclusive though
