Matty, the way you describe your experience diving into Death Stranding is exactly how I felt jumping into Outer Wilds. I know you already tried OW and didn’t like it, but it’s truly unique and absolutely mind blowing in terms of gameplay, narrative design and specifically the marriage between the two. I played it at a time when I felt like games couldn’t captivate me anymore, and it absolutely blew my understanding/perception of games as a medium wide open and reignited my passion for the hobby. I hope some day you give it another try.

Hey boys! Great episode, as always. I wish the unionization discussion would get a bit more in depth. In my opinion, unions eventually lead to higher labor costs and more inefficient labor. I watched the unions destroy the US paper and pulp industry by being overpriced compared to international and non-union labor businesses. I fear eventually, we will get there with US gaming industry. Microsoft needs to have an ability to run the business the way they want (outsourcing Q&A, less remote work, etc). In my humble opinion. I have a solid economics and finance background, so it's possible I'm too business side oriented, but I'm definitely wary of this union. #RedlineDD

There simply isn't the technology for a PS handheld at the moment. It isn't some magic you can conjure up. Anything designed right now would be markedly weaker than a PS5 and the last thing Sony wants to do is split it's software. Exactly the same boat as Xbox is in. Go read Valves comments regarding a Steam Deck 2.

Armed & Dangerous is another one (besides Blinx & Voodoo) that defines og Xbox to me. One of the few sincerely funny games. Wish we got a much needed remaster by now. 😞 Maybe it is a Lucas Arts thing or maybe I need to recognize that this awesome game just makes no business sense to return. Cog has hit what I call the “Atlus Bitch Slap” So many of their games for no reason get twice as hard around the 3/4 mark. It’s so frustrating. Doesn’t matter if you grind and do side quests, enemies will start one shotting you for no reason.

Sony is going to beat Xbox to market with a handheld. I honestly think they have just completely given up on hardware. I know they say they haven't, but what else would they say? It's pretty clear. And I wouldn't even be surprised if their handheld never comes.
