I respectfully disagree sir. MGS4 had the overwhelming task of putting a bow on a long complicated story spanning multiple games with lots of threads that needed wrapping up. The cutscenes are super long, but after following the story for a decade or more at that point in time, I think most fans would agree that it was well worth it. I remember being so locked in for every scene back in 2008.

I think there's a bit too much hindsight negativity for Tears of the Kingdom, not just you guys but in general. Your criticisms are totally valid but it's worth remembering that game is incredible.

Heard some weird takes on why someone doesn’t like horizon but this one from Gene is the WORST. No staff holster? Come on man. Grand theft auto characters have like 18 weapons on them at a time and one of them is an rpg. Never heard that come up in a critique. Grasping at straws imo

I loved the conversation around MGS4! That was a bright light in a bit of a PS3 game drought in 2008. I had never really played MGS before (aside from a bit of MGS2) but I ran through the whole series before MGS4 released and loved it. Ended up going through it multiple times. Perfect game, perfect ending, can’t wait for it to eventually come to PS5.

Great episode, perfect pairing. Got me through a long day at work. MGS4 sucks, though. That ending was a self-indulgent mess for those of us who weren’t high during the final cutscene. 😉 Kojima has great ideas, but badly needs an editor that he’ll listen to.
