Kinda Funny is such a ridiculous company now. I left during the 2020 election after they told Trump voters they weren’t welcome there. I’m not even a Trump supporter, but I couldn’t stand the hypocrisy of their vitriol in saying that. They are SO blind to the fact that they are doing the EXACT thing they are taking a stand against. Working in food service for a decade, and I can tell you, tipping in no way helps the server these days. The gratuity went up, yet the pay stayed the same. If the table orders drinks, now a bartender gets a percentage of that tip, unfair if you take into conconsideration most bartenders are salary these days. If the customer grabs to-go, a percentage goes to the kitchen. Also, every ticket has a percentage that goes to the House. Often times, right now, servers are paying to be at work.

I am not a suit, so I only enjoy the business side from the bleachers, but when Colin talks to not buying companies that you haven’t worked with personally, on an exclusive level, I thought of one exception (imo)… Q-Games, developers of a number of great indies (Tomorrow Children did not speak to me, but I digress), would have been a solid (and financially conservative) investment. Now, of course they may not want to be acquired but, as a fan of the indie creativity boom that was PS3, it would have pleased me. 😊 * obviously, shout out to ‘thatgamecompany’, who made incredible games as well. Another acquisition pass that surprised me. 🤷‍♂️

This isn’t just an LSM problem, but I wish personalities would stop making blanket statements about games they haven’t played based on a clip or two that they saw of it. To me it seems like making a blanket like that a game’s writing sucks based off a five minute clip to your large audience isn’t very far removed from people review bombing a game that haven’t bought. I know it’s such a minor thing, but I think being more conscious about how we speak about things would be a small step in helping the unhealthy discourse issue. Just my two cents.

I work for a VERY large American company and review signed contracts all the time that are totally fucked. I’m always shocked that lawyers or others looked at some of those things (spelling errors/blatant typos/etc) and either didn’t notice or just passed it along as fine. That being said the Grummz “contract” is so obviously fake it’s insane that anyone thought it to be real. I hope he grows a pair and joins Colin on an SS+ episode. This tipping thing is out of control alright. I was travelling through the US for a bit this summer, and saw all sides of it. I totally get the tipping culture with regard to waiting staff at restaurants, bar staff etc. No issues with any of that. But there were times when I was at say a show, and literally just getting a bottle of water from the concession stand - and this chick behind the register shoves this screen towards me with an option to tip between 18 - 22%... That's when shit is getting out of control lol
