But games don't need to cost that much. Look at Astro Bot. 60 devs took 3 years and made a pretty unanimous GOTY. Why did TLOU 2 need to be like 40 hours long? how about 15 hours and cut down on the cost and time to make it? Look at everything Remedy makes. Control cost 30 million to make. 30 MILLION. Nobody can say that game wasn't AAA quality and a good length at about 12-15 hours. I just don't buy this argument anymore that games just cost way to much these days. Hire more producers and start buckling down on waste. As I'm writing this another one bites the dust. Horizon MMO cancelled...

Sony has made a name for themselves making games with top of the line graphics, motion capture, and voice work. Nintendo hasn’t. Sony’s games most likely cost WAYYY more than Nintendo’s to make. 1 successful live service game can fund a few more Sony first party games easily. To me, the bigger question is WHY is that Sony’s identity? I think most people don’t give a shit about top of the line graphics. Most people just want a fun game. Many people like myself miss the wacky Sony era.

If you argue that Sony NEEDS to be in the live service space. Why don't you argue that Nintendo needs to be? Nintendo makes their bones selling first party just fine. Why can't Sony be that? Take all this wasted money and time, set up a bunch of new studios to make big and small first party games. Be happy with the tithe you are making from other live service games and do what you are best at. Like what is the selling point of the PS6? They are doubling down on the multi generation stuff now so if they don't have exclusives why would you buy a PS6?

Marvel Rivals is my 1st hero shooter and very fun. I get the cool lore from the S1 story event , but as a AAA story game player, Concords cutscense and other cinematic plans seemed very interesting now that im in this space
