I don't see why a ps4 game that got a free 60fps upgrade would be the one need to a remaster. It feels like everyone hates these until they see it and the $10 and shiny new crap placates them Man. What a shame about Avowed.

Yeah, I don't mind Cog's take on games. I, personally, am much more in line with Cog than Matty. I think Matty whining about a narrative of a side quest about how bad the choice and consequence is or as evidence the game is mid is not something I put so much weight on. Meanwhile, Cog is talking about how awesome the gameplay and character builds can be is something I do value. You move on to Hellblade 2 and I don't even understand Matty's review. The game was better than its predecessor in arguably all facets but the story yet Matty dumped on that game as bad. Cog's take was much more aligned with reality (IMO). To each their own though but I felt Cog's takes have been fine and closer to my own thoughts (haven't played Avowed yet so I'm speculating there)

WB Games - this thing they did where they gained exclusive legal rights to use the Nemesis System, and then, they never use it, and even CANCEL it out of a game that was supposed to have it - this is one of the shittiest things I've ever seen by a game company. So you just patented this mechanic ONLY TO DENY other creatives from using a cool system in their own games. Just a piece of shit company.

There's a Game of Thrones RPG from the PS3 era made by Cyanide - the same devs who made Of Orcs and Men & Styx. It's has a surprisingly great script and a few hours in, the voice actors realise it and you can tell they raised their effort 😅. If you vibe with the type of games Lockmort enjoys, you'll definitely dig it.

I’m not saying your not entitled to like what you like but when your job is to provide feedback to a community on games that are very divisive with in that same community it’s telling to generally have an overwhelmingly positive critique on such titles without providing any criticism. That’s been my experience as a lister for several years. Matty puts out some not so positive reviews on some titles that are high profile and the rage gamers try to ruin his reputation where cog just avoids any controversy by simply not being critical. That’s my take doesn’t mean I’m right also doesn’t mean I’m wrong. I’m a gamer and I play on all systems but the Xbox community is very toxic in general when it comes to criticism.

I completely disagree. Cog has been critical of Xbox and their games. Is he not allowed to like Xbox games? Does he need to just bash those games because you don’t like them and disagree with his opinions. Also Cog doesn’t have to worry about pissing anyone at Xbox off for losing access. Xbox isn’t petty like PlayStation & Nintendo. How many Xbox games have gotten low scores like Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, Bleeding Edge, Battletoads, and Redfall yet reviewers are still able to get codes. There is no Xbox cope. The console war is over grow up!

I do love both matty and cog but I can feel the restraint to go off on certain games because he most definitely has inside relationships with certain team members and it’s not good for his access if he’s slandering every game that comes his way that’s divisive.

Yes I always feel as cog is trying his best to be honest, and I’m not going to say I know what he likes or doesn’t like. But do kinda get the vibe sometimes that he WANTS to love these games, he does LOVE the challenger brands as a Sega kid and it can lead to some of what you’re saying. I experienced some of that first hand with starfield - I was so excited being that their games from 2001-2011 shaped my gaming taste, the lackluster opening hours had nowhere near as much of a negative impact on me.

Shouts out to Joey Valence and Brae in the Borderlands trailer! Great group bringing back the Beastie Boys sound. Put out one of the funnest albums of last year. Really want to see them live. Game looked pretty cool, could get me back into the series. New game from Housemarque looks incredible, hopefully I can actually beat this one lol also Hell is Us looks way better than it's last showing and the Octopus game looks awesome. That being said, nothing really coming out in the first half of the year I am excited for.....at least Xbox got me

A criticism for cog being that I don’t believe he is being as honest as he could be on his opinions, he sounds like he is saving face for media outlets that he wants to keep access to. Avowed, starfield, hellblade 2 all decent games but he lacks serious criticism for any of them. Xbox cope needs to end.

So far metacritic scores for Avowed are 80 and 79, and IGN just gave it a 7. Was definetly expecting a stronger reaction cause it’s a game from Obsidian but I can’t wait to hear what the three of you thought of the game!
