I’m tired of people acting like gen 1 is the best Pokémon. First of all RBY are the worst games of the series easily. Second of all half of the gen 1 mons are dumb as fuck. All gens have stinkers but gen 3-5 is peak in terms of the cool/dumb ratio for the mons.

Root Letter mentioned, hell yeah. Root Film was alright, if I remember correctly. Sold very, very poorly so I assume Kadokawa’s VN series is toast. House in Fata Morgana is amazing but one of the saddest things I’ve ever experienced. Besides Danganronpa, Zero Escape is similar and also great. Of course, my top recommendation has to be Steins;Gate and any other in the series—Chaos;Child also was great.
