Thinking about the console price incerases for both ps5 and series - It is funny when you think about, how, most people were paying like $700-$1,000 or even more, depending on the console, for like the first 6 to 12 months these consoles were out. The companies could have just dropped the boxes with $700 MSRP, and then gradually reduced taht price as the supply stabilized. Becuase people were paying those high prices from scalpers, anyway. But no, what really happened is scalpers got to make the profit the platform makers deserved, and now, the boxes are just sitting in the stores, priced way too high.
