How does the state stamp housing everywhere if it's not legal to build apartments anywhere. Don't we still need to unban apartment buildings in the 3/4 of land where it's illegal to build them? Don't we still need to make it harder to bad-faith sue the government to stop construction? I think almost all housing should be social but YIMBY stuff is a necessary first step, no? Even if we magically, evenly distributed wealth and income, there aren't enough dense, urban places like NYC that exist for people who want to live there. We need both supply and redistribution.

Wasn’t there a huge amount of construction in NYC, SF etc during the super low interest rate 2010’s

I definitely think Matt should write a book for approximately the same reason that Klein and Thompson wrote a book: the Dem platform is up for grabs again. Matt has a coherent theory of the welfare state that I’ve rarely seen articulated as well, but it’s all scattered around various articles and policy papers and podcasts. The libs love books and the media cycle that comes around them is highly influential on discourse if you hit the right podcast circuit. I think it’d be a bit of waste for him to not do it tbh.

No one is defensive, bruh. You just sound like a freak bringing up again. Like are you a pizza gate guy too??

Pop-exon being valuable doesn’t mean Matt has to write it

You love pedophiles as long as they're Republicans

Note to self: Chapos get reeeeally defensive when you bring up the crimes of Virgil 🤔

Is your entire politics oriented around podcast hosts? You famously think we should all join the party of Roy Moore, Matt Gaetz, and Epstein's VIP list
TC
I don't like pedos is all 🤷♂️ Maybe they need Matt to take a look at whatever ironclad contracts Virgil finagled with Chapo and Briahna Joy Gray to the point where they're still paying him resisduals all these years later

Do you have an actual life?

Matt writes of Abundance, "It’s a pop policy book written for a Malcolm Gladwell type of audience, which is a valuable thing for a political movement to have." If it is indeed valuable, then when can we expect the book "Egality" by Matt Bruenig [forward by Liz Bruenig] ?!
Martin Ross
they’re calling it the crossover event of the season
TC
They still paying Virgil's pedo pension?
Hudson
Great to hear Matt on the only other pod I listen to 😉
