Awesome chapter- I thought the Jaguar Woman was the most terrifying but Iztacoatl is just as scary. I wonder how much more consequences the explosion will cause.

Federico Bellavista

That's to be expected! Each of the Nightlords seems to promote Iztac's growth in a different area. Iztacoatl will surely stimulate his cunning.

I expect whole arc of psychological torture ahead. In order to deceive a fellow serpent, Iztac has to deceive himself. What a challenge. More degradation to come And First Emperor probably holds Eztli as bait/hostage, he should have been able to recall her too. First Emperor as end boss is simply terrifying Thx for the awesome chapter!

I'm starting to sense a theme here. Yoloxochitl oversaw the empires' religion, which ironically resulted in her being devoured by her divine father. Itzacoatl who seems to be the next target favors intrigue and schemes, meaning she will have to be outwitted. Sugey is a warmonger who will likely be defeated in battle. Ocelocihuatl, the leader, must be overthrown.

Iztacoatl is the most "self aware" of the Nightlords; in the prologue, she is the first to notice Iztac doesn't buy into the emperor charade (because she doesn't either) and she laughs at the irony of another false god pulling a fast one on her. She is vain, but she understands she isn't a real goddess and that makes her more cautious than her sisters ;) she'll be a very different challenge from Yolo for sure.

As in, he's annoyed that she's so narcissic she won't even talk to her own priests/zealots directly, something even the likes of Yoloxochitl were shown to do; hinting at her boundless vanity. Edited to make that clearer.

"As if she were above her own worshippers." What does dude actually mean here? Cause isn't it in a gods nature to above their followers? Feel like that's the reason their worshipped. Also, am actually quite interested in the horror of Iztacoatl. Not sure how she actually plans on delivering on her threats but she made me realize that the goddesses are a quartet, or ig trio, of dommy-mommy's. Neat

Federico Bellavista

Itzacoatl didn't strike me as the most dangerous of the four Nightlords. Yoloxochitl was obviously the weakest and flagged to die first, and amongst the remaining three, I would've pegged the Jaguar Woman as the most terrifying. But both she and Sugey have exploitable flaws, namely overconfidence and bloodlust. The Serpent has neither, is cold and calculating... Obviously she still has a superiority complex, and a tinge of arrogance appropriate for an ageless semi-immortal vampire... but she doesn't underestimate Iztac. So exciting!
