Blood & Fur Chapter 65: Chindi

George R

I'm so excited to see what you have next, I had to take a break from reading while working on medical school applications.

Void Herald

Well, we haven't even reached the second layer's end so there's still tons of story left XD

George R

Oh wow I thought it was sooner than that. Thanks so much

Void Herald

He promised to let her possess a priestess on the Day of the Dead, which happens roughly one month before the Scarlet Moon ceremony ; so he still has over two thirds of a year to fulfill his promise ;)

George R

Amazing chapter- I have always wanted to ask if Iztac can combine spells and I was right! I also have a question about the goddess of death the first women, was their a time line on their deal for her return to the world?

CaptainFlowers

Reading through this a few times now has me wondering on the potential impact of the shape-shifter. She could add a lot of value and trouble to Iztac's campaign of subterfuge. But the possibilities of her co-mingling with the other consorts has me tingling with anticipation. And though he doesn't really mean the promise of sharing his power with her, I feel like eventually he will - if only to enrich his circle/coven. Ugh I love this story so much

Yuval Roth

She is a (attractive )girl, getting someone to sleep with her is probably easy, I personally doubt she is going to just pick a random person to participate with, I think she would start off with the blood method, attempting to do what Itzac did to heal Nentel, there is the vision in which he saw his conception, so it might imply she would do it and I am wrong? Might also imply she would ask it of him, but I am not sure even she is socially inept enough to do so.

Void Herald

They certainly run the gamut from Neutral Good to Chaotic Evil ;)

Nicholas

I don't think trust is neccessarily a prerequisite, after all that's not how Sigurn employed it. Rather than trusting her partner she focused on the mutual feeling of lust and robbed them of vitality. Itctaca won't get the full post-coital clairvoyance package like Iztac does, but she will be able to steal another's life force.

Joseph Klos

appreciation doesn't mean aptitude, since the normal way requires a measure of trust as well as synchronicity, and the abnormal way requires messing with her own soul to bind it to another's in some way, which she would probably never do.

CJ Tamberella

Thanks for the chap!

Nicholas

One thing I feel is being overlooked here is Itctaca's new appreciation for sedir. The way I see it it'll have both good and bad consequences. Good in the sense Itctaca will become more empowered from it's use and bad in the sense she'll start searching for unwilling participants since her husband lacks the... "equipment."

Lucius

I think it's pretty cool that we have such unique consorts and from different Alignments with different skill sets.

Joseph Barratt

Wild it’s longer than perfect run! Although I binged that one. Love this story so much. Gun soul is getting up there but Blood & Fur is gold.

Cerbero300

I understand you and you are right. I will survive hahaha.[ I liked seeing that iztac and his mother move forward in their relationship.]

Doctor Zero

Crazy that this book is longer than Perfect Run. Does not feel that way.

Matthew Flowers

Tbh I think Chikal might be the most likely betrayer. She is beginning to doubt Iztac’s sanity and likely will fear for what would happen after the Nightlords get defeated if he continues to show instability

Void Herald

We all know Itzili is the real power behind Iztac. All has gone according to his saurian plan, which our mammal brains aren't equipped to grasp.

Federico Bellavista

Of course! I was so blind... thank you for enlightening me about the beast's treachery!

Yuval Roth

The prophecy is kind of blatant, it is kind of obvious the betrayal will come from Itzili the second, it is always the chancellors.

Federico Bellavista

That's why I got mixed feelings. I know that IS a possibility, but who knows?

Void Herald

Who said anything in the prophecy has yet to happen? ;) Mind you, Iztac is an unreliable narrator, and what he thinks or hope is true may not be necessarily the case. He's very much falling into the prophecy trap Lahun warned him about.

Federico Bellavista

I am indeed in the European Time Zone, specifically Rome, so... Saturday morning! There was a time where you posted also in the middle of the week, but maybe that was a one-time thing to speed up the story before your break... was just wondering if you had gone back to it, that's all. Wishful thinking on my part, I guess... One small bit of critique that I forgot to add in the previous chapters (I was so happy to be back and hyped about the story that it genuinely kinda fell in the background of it all). I am honestly kinda disappointed about the "betrayal with the face of a friend" line of the prophecy being resolved so early and I might say so easily. It really felt like a very strong setup for a very unexpected but properly-foreshadowed plot twist down the line, so... it almost feels like it's wasted? The Skinwalker plotline is great and all, but I was really caught off guard when the whole situation was wrapped up less than 10 chaps after the prophecy was made. Unless... it's all mindgames and you're all playing us for fools using Iztac's wishful thinking... in that case, good job, you did it. Congrats, I guess? That is to say, I've got mixed feeling about it now. On one hand, if it is all a giant scheme to make us all let our guard down, I genuinely look forward to being tricked and blindsided by you... on the other, if this is really it, I honestly think you kinda wasted a potentially interesting plotline. I guess we'll see in the next chaps?

Void Herald

Corrected thanks ;) yeah Chindi is very much what Iztac could have become without an utilitarian goal to focus on. Well the update schedule is saturday morning european time; depending on where you are on the planet that may appear different.

Federico Bellavista

Amazing! Really love the parallels between the Skinwalker and Iztac... a very needed wake up call for our protagonist. All these negative examples he's been given... those will be his restraint. Without them, he might have walked their same path to corruption... but now that he has seen them in all their horror and malevolence, he will think twice before stooping to the same lows. Btw, I think you meant "ridding", not "riding" when you were talking about Iztac thoughts about the Skinwalker. Ps. What is the update schedule nowadays? Sunday morning as always? I'm sorry for asking, but the May break and my "absence" made me forget when you used to upload new chaps.

Void Herald

Well the issue is that B&F chapters are super long by design, so if I write two per week I likely won't have time to write anything else xD I might be able to publish more B&F chapters once I finish CE though.

Cerbero300

This chapter is the living image of "or the hell the crazy girl likes me." I loved the chapter, I can't wait for more. (I've always wanted to ask you this, couldn't you add another subscription level besides this one and publish two chapters a week?. I ask because I love the story and I would like to have a little more .) [but if that's too tiring for you, don't worry, you're doing great, I just wanted to know if you'd consider it]

Void Herald

Indeed, my word productivity has kept increasing over the past year and long chapters obscure the real length xD glad to read that!

Stultus

Almost as long as the Perfect Run? That's crazy! Looking forward to much more of this - Blood and Fur has topped The Perfect Run as my favourite fiction of yours.

Void Herald

That one is closer to Ramsay Bolton than poor Reek ;)

Carlos Torres

Shame you couldn't hit the factory reset button on the mind and started with a new personality. This feels like Golum and Reek all rolled up into one discusting package. Can't wait for more!
