Void Herald

Yes, he would. It's been mentioned everyone can learn/do magic, it's just that classes really accelerate the process. The knowledge won't vanish.

Myrdin

Let’s say that Simon gets a mage crestone and learns high level spells with it. Would the knowledge how to cast spells remain with him in another reign, or would it be gone alongside the class levels?

Myrdin

I wonder if Thalas feeling that inexplicable rage at Simon isn’t something that Balzam afflicted him with. It has also probably helped him with the Berserker class. Duchar and Belzemine going to help Simon might have screwed Laurianne’s forces and will certainly reveal Simon to be the Overlord

Logrus

Eh - Honestly "Daddy never smiled at me" is way better pathos than "fuck you for being only partially related to me" <_<

Myrdin

FuriousDee

That doesn’t seem like a great choice for a perk though because if the overlord’s brands don’t last between loops a summoner’s contracts definitely wouldn’t. And he would find getting an eidolon hard at the moment even assuming that they don’t react like other mana aligned creatures to his presence.

Get'em levels

nah i thing it is understandeble (not exusebele). every kid wants love and recognition from its parents. especialy sons from there fathers. thalas never recifed that no matter how hard he traid. then some guy comes in and gets it imideatly without doing aanything (in his perspektive). No wonder thales is so fircly loyal to his mother she probs was the only one who actualy cared for and acnowledged him. also we dont know what elese his father did.

Void Herald

Mmmm... point taken, plus only some classes should be able to see others' stats. Edited accordingly.

Having notifications for other people's buffs/debuffs is a bad move, the story isn't from their POV

Him brining up the summoner noble classes for his crests and the revelation that you can transfer vassal classes levels to a noble class feels purposeful. I wouldn’t be surprised if Simon for his next crest stone devour perk, gets a much easier vassal class of a noble class he wants to devour, then throughout the reign levels that vassal class up until he can get the noble class likely closer towards the end of the reign(because noble classes generally have a strong wielder he’ll have to defeat) Im really excited to see if he can get one of the summoner class perks. I can already imagine that one of the base perks being bend eidolons to his will.

vVip3rzzz

I dont think it was intentional to be honest I think it was just legitimately how Balzam felt

Antony444

Dear, we know he smiled. We don't know why Balzam did so. For all we know (and evidence tends to confirm it) it was the smile 'welcome home, my wayward son, rejoice, for you are about to begin the Ultimate Reign, also called the 'I am trying to screw you in every way imaginable'.

Jannik

I also think that suicide could be a very good explanation for how the Overlord class ended up with Simon and not some mysterious killer. I am wondering if the woman that lay dead next to him is truly just a random concubine that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

MasterofNova

So if the classes work better with those who embody their perceived characteristics, then I feel like Balzam did a pretty good job in fostering the rage in Thalas to make him a berserker. Sadly I think he succeeded a bit too well in that sense cause the dude is too blinded by rage to actually have a rational thought.

alejandrox

Thanks for the chapter XD Seriously, that's why he hates him??? Because his father never smiled at him??? How ridiculously childish

MasterofNova

Nah, dude wanted to be Azula so bad

BlaueFeder

Antonine would have escaped the moment Simon was about to bash her skull in. I think Thalass is about to die in the next chapter.

Pradian

Would like thalas to be defeated this reign but unlikely as I believe dancer has escape abilities hm.

Kaze

Thalas is basically just Broly

Jasus

I am reading Death after Death also a time loop story were the protagonist is also called Simon.

Publius Decius Mus

I hope Leonard survived that wound long enough for Belzemine to get to him. Also, man, what a snowflake Thalas is! Deliberately bad parenting will do that to you, I guess.

Federico

Damn you Void Herals, I keep reading the MC's name as "Slimon!"

Jasus

It is sort of endearing that we find out that Balzam smiled proudly at seeing Simon again. Even Evil has loved ones. That is if that was not meant to foster a hatred in Thalas.

Yozora

LMAO i thought it was bc his father tortured him psychologically or some shit, but this is stupid, bud is just dumb and crazy

Jasus

Their Father had absolutely faned the flames of hatred of Thalas.

George R

Great chapter thanks

MaliMi

That seems like a really stupid reason to hate someone. Too far fetched even for Thalas.

Void Herald

I mean he tried, but Antonine has a pet 30+ levels higher than him to keep her safe ;)

Halfcrzy

Argh. Why is Simon so adverse to killing and getting EXP. Lol. One swing. One darn swing guy.

David Janjic

God I can't wait until he hits high 40's or 50's. I think that's where he will archive parity with noble classes in the 60's. Will be awesome when he starts punching faces in.

Antony444

Though now that I pay attention to Thalas' speech...is it possible Balzam, Cruel Bastard that he was, used a 'Brand of Wrath' on his own son?

Elerahz

I was beginning to think that balzam had slipped thalass some info about simons potential threat in order to foster hatred for him but no he was just casually cruel I’m becoming more and more convinced that balzam either committed suicide or let himself be killed if he’s smiling upon meeting simon for the last/first time he had his reasons at least

Antony444

Well...I see I was really optimistic about the chances of negotiation, be it in this reign or in any other. The Church Party leading figures want a war, and worse, they likely all wanted it before Frightwall got disintegrated. This is going to get ugly. On the positive side, Simon may have the support here to deal with Thalas here, and if he manages that, the boost in terms of levels should be...considerable. Ah, well. Going to sleep now, will comment more on it tomorrow.
