Zahir Nahasamapetial

Any idea what the Templar Crestone has to offer? I Imagine some kind of buff when combating Dark creatures

Alibhai

Commander* and no. Out of four devour slots he has Exp x1.5 and inventory. He has two more unoccupied slots.

Nifemi Ogundare

How could stasis immunity be weird when he spent practically the entire reign trapped in stasis?

Earnest

Wait is he in status between reigns is that why he doesn't remember that place of darkness? Will he see it each time now? It felt like stasis immunity was a weird ability to get that reign, like it was unconnected to that place he saw behind the curtain but this would connect it.

Diego Urbina

Lots of setup I see. Seems like this reign might be a bit lucrative.

Zahir Nahasamapetial

Let's see if this time Simon levels up the Crestone before gulping it up

Zahir Nahasamapetial

Did he finally eat the General Crestone?

Dylan Alexander

Works best if you actually level up a crestone instead of choosing the first level active and passive perks. So far Simon hasn’t bothered levelling up another crestone.

Charlie

I think it makes sense to save up a couple of slots so he can fill them as needed when the opportunity arises.

Xeophyn

I'm hoping for increased prayer chances or something. It could give access to a branch of magic that Simon couldn't otherwise access or fuel

Xeophyn

Eh, Balzam seemed to have a weird way of showing affection. He also told Shabram to obey and believe Simon. They could be part of the 'reward' for Simon being his favorite due to being the one to kill him the most. Blazam probably considered Simon's mother's skull and the ratings to be rewards as well.

Jacob Monson

This is a little off topic but why in the world did Balzam choose Leonard and Meredith to be Simon's retainers? There's no way there's not some hidden catch to their service. Maybe one of the Zodiacs transforms a bloodline when they return or something similar. It would make sense that Balzam would choose two fated to die people to serve Simon just to be a bastard.

Dylan Alexander

Light doesn’t necessarily mean good and dark doesn’t necessarily mean evil. Order can be malevolent and chaos can be righteous.

CentaureHeart

I wonder what the Cleric might offer, could be some strong debuff/buff that are Dark aligned.

Anony Mous

All of these revelations make me much more interested in Mastemo's Angels, wonder what Simon can get out of the Church.

Alibhai

I was RIGHT!! I just felt his favoritism of Simon felt manipulative. His manipulations of Eole let Simon confirm it. On another related note, it seems the light isn't always necessarily good. It's similar to the Templar from Assassin's Creed. It can take the form of benevolence (white unicorn) or forced compliance.

Alibhai

Of course, we can't have civilians NOT dying now, can we? It's just a question of when he will unleash it.

Void Herald

I would take either the Mage, the Librarian, or the Adventurer :)

Alibhai

Indeed a skilled manipulator doesn't need deceit. You can beat facts and statistics into submission to better suit your narrative. And the ones that don't fit? Erase them or lock them away.

Илья Маринин

I definetely hope for that as well. Simon seems to work extremely well as a conflicted character, instead of a more typical anti-hero MC. His attempts to turn the Overlord to the good causes and mostly failing but sometimes succeding are very interesting.

Antony444

Interesting. Simon had not yet had a Perk which got his utmost attention for Devour Crestone III, and now he gets Devour Crestone IV...well, at least it gives customisable options. As long as he can get to the good stuff of the Noble Crestones, of course...

George R

Awesome chapter. Void question what noble class would you choose? I like mage cleric or bard from what I’ve seen for myself.

Saddy Storm

Hope Simon keeps his humanity more, even in his mind he's calling devout people 'fools' for tricking them when objectively they should have no idea and many other little instances of him being 'mean' for a better word. It's obvious how his ruthless nature and wits is what made him an Overlord And an effective everything basically in the lost timelines. But I like it more when he goes against it sometimes— and not just for a select few individuals that he knew from a previous reign but more people. Hopefully there will be a reign where he spends it fully to do the maximum good possible, maybe even befriend the Paladin (or maybe goes and sees the Light Manalith and it shares memories of him; maybe maybe accepts him back even as an Overlord).

Jasus

Why lie if the truth is enough?

FuriousDee

It’s a shame I can’t like that comment more than once.

racnor 1

Man, it sure is screwed up that a group would ally with a zodiac fiend to enslave an entire people. Unrelated note; how is that pact with the overlord going for you Mastemo...

Tilen Praprotnik

Thanks for the chapter

alejandrox

Thanks for the chapter!!!! Wow!!!! He even leveled up!!! Nice!!!! I also wonder what abilities the cleric class will have...

Black Rose

Tftc

Sean Krkovich

Well, I think that just about confirms our thoughts on Mastemo. He is clearly the good guy. Now, all Simon has to do is prophesy the Overlord will conquer the world, enslave the gods, and he'll ensure Mastemo's aid to his cause

Karim Saadi

Man I really expected the vow to fail somehow but I'm glad it didn't

Void Herald

He does, which may or may not be a good thing ;) the Cleric does not pick nonbelievers.

Publius Decius Mus

Mastemo concluded that Simon knew the side effects of the elixir, because he foresaw the plague. Given Mastemo's opinions on prophecies (they can't and shan't be changed), I think Simon just confirmed for him that he MUST turn the elixir into a plague, and he MUST unleash it.

Hive Tyrant

Poor Eole. At least Mastemo seems like he actually believes what he espouses.

Myrdin

That kish king with his demon queen looks really similar to the legend of the Night King from the Song of Ice and Fire

McPiecey

Nice. An extra crestone slot is always welcome. It’s pretty overpowered to have that ability. Being able to choose skills from everywhere to shore up weaknesses and increase strength.
