It is honestly a very Balzam move, that the only way for Remedia to get a daughter if she is half magnos. Although, if that is the case, I can imagine Simon offering his seed or blood, something to help bypass the curse. It would definitely earn him a loyal ally if that was the case.

I feel like the "other issue" related to Balzam is that he cursed the Queen to not have a daughter/not have a daughter with anyone but him (maybe even his bloodline). I could see him do that considering his personality and it would be a decent strategic move considering it would destabilize a country he aim to conquer. It would also add another reason for her not to talk about it with Simon, not that she really needs one considering he's still a prince of Endymion.

The Paladin should also get some overpowered perks, I mean the Overlord gets up to 99 bonus lives. Without a catch-up mechanic for the Paladin, he would just be a joke to the Overlord.

Now I want to know how much this disrupts the oracle. Is just operational security that keeps her from telling her people what's really going on? Or is there a plan here the agents wouldn't agree to? Also, I never put together the Master/Mother thing. I knew his mother's beaux was from lore. But the connection to the Paladin is wonderful. Oh! and makes a ton of sense in regards to Simon's access to becoming the paladin.

Huh, didn't expect Remedia to straight up ask Simon about Balzam's death. Shows how close Remedia is to Simon. Honestly, I can see this Reign putting her and Verdis in the list of people Simon wish to protect/help. Because at the end of the day, Simon is a softie to the people who are kind/helpful to him. Also, I do hope Simon and Alphonse get to bond more in later reigns. While Alphonse is heavily biased, he can still be convinced and I can see Simon taking a liking to him when Alphonse stop having a stick in his ass.

Heroic Destiny feels pretty bullshit, tbh Simon can't really outlevel the Paladin because the EXP gain boost will always scale to his level Also, damn, are we getting near the end of the Reign already?
