Alright, with Lord of the Berwick Islands now a winner, Anna & Maublanc Magnos are now Anna & Maublanc Paimon, with Maublanc having been Balzam Magnos' blood-brother during the war and elevated to a princedom for his service (with no blood relationship between the houses in spite of their closeness). I've edited chapters in that sense but please inform me if you find anything that slipped through ;)

I’m for the Berwick Isle loop first; he’s there right now and it makes sense time line wise that he would pursue that. Then follow up with a desperate need to gain experience if he fails or it’s a Pyrrhic victory.

XP boost has more impact the earlier you get it, so logically it would be better for Simon’s progression to get it asap. Romance this early is pointless if he can’t even protect those he loves. Though I suppose the impact of Simon falling in love and then inevitably failing to protect her again would be a good motivator to get stronger.

Maan, i was down to the adventurer route, but u won my vote Edit: i'm going for the exp route, there are other ways of saving Anna and Simon wants to be strong enough to kill Vouivre, also with this there is no cousin romance

Here’s my take. By the end of this current route/reign Im pretty certain that Simon will be the most set to “save Anna” as it would end up being by going the Berwick isles route. It makes more sense that he’d do it now then later, and considering the lich might cause that route to end rather grimly. It also makes sense that Simon would then want a chill reign of adventurer and meeting the Paladin might wash away anything extra grim thoughts the Lich infested him with. It just makes more sense for something grim to happen for Simon to need a calm “reset route”

I'll also add that I use an actual EXP track system in the background (like the one in Apocalypse Tamer) so it's not level ups at the speed of the plot either ;) it will have a tangible impact on progression.

The faster he gets the exp boost the higher highs he will be able to achive. Remember guys he can only get exp once. That means every exp where he does not get boosted will be lost forever. So the sooner the better.

I like Anna and I would enjoy the romance arc I think, but I voted for the Adventurer option because I think that choice seems more consistent with Simon's character right now. Though of course I'm sure it would be possible to write the rest of this loop in a way that would change that.

I'm guessing we'll eventually get both, so I'd rather Simon focus on exp first ;)

I like Anna (and I like romances that are a little twisted) so I hope you stick with her as-is and, if not the very next loop, let it happen sometime down the line :c

Upon reading the newest chapter, I changed my vote to the Adventuring option because Simon needs to become stronger, and it appears in past loops (of his dad) he had some ties to that second country. This will tie Simon to his past lives while giving him the power in the future to protect Anna. He’s just gotta live longer to get some levels to begin really playing with the big dogs, and he only has a finite time

im honestly more intrested in the Lich than Anna but she is a nice bonus XD Also if you planig on making the Paladin an Importent figure it wuld be good to make him aper early on.

I mean it could simply be changed to Anna's father having been Balzam Magnos' most loyal vassal and become his blood-brother during the war, and been rewarded with the largest fief in return, so you can have extreme familiarity between the two families without making them relatives.

Okay I’m torn. Simon DOES need an exp boost. But the Anna storyline seems better for the plot. And I don’t think you should change Anna to a childhood friend because then why is she being hunted? If you want to change Anna’s history a tiny bit, make it so her father was the Overlords first or second cousin instead of his brother, leading to Anna being a second or third cousin, a little more distance without sacrificing the traditions of medieval noble families (which, like, should not have been traditions (looking at you Hapsburgs) in the first place, but were)

Storywise, the Anna option seems better. But I do not like the cousin romance, so I am abstaining from the vote. Someone mentioned that you could rewrite Anna, so she is not a cousin. If that could be pulled off and she does not need to be a part of Magnos bloodline, that would be the best.

Given the nature of the story, I wouldn't mind both. That said, if I had to choose one, I'd pick the spicy number one!

I'd say that Simon, knowing that this is early on with his loops, would try to set himself up with a stronger baseline before having to focus on lordship and statecraft. Give the cutthroat nature of things are going back at the throne, hard power is needed before soft power.

What's the context with Slumrat? Yeah I suppose rewritting Anna as a not cousin could work as well; part of why I even put a poll is that I wonder how people would react to it.

kissing cousins will bring you the wrong type of crowd. won't forget the guy in Slumrat's Rising who asked for the system to abuse and humiliate the mc. If you rewrite so that Anna is not a blood relative, it might work better. also, waiting for Simon's evil run.
