I'm sorry but I feel like Will Ferrell at the end of Zoolander reading this chapter and comments. I must be taking crazy pills for the author and the readers to act like them knowing he's the Overlord is a surprise....He meets the Cobweb with a password created by the Overlord, he introduces himself as the Overlords son, they tell him they know the Overlord is dead, then he straight up tells them he's fleeing looking for mentorship and to build power. How is it a shocking mic drop moment that they figured out he has the class?!

Void Herald

He's getting there, don't worry ;) it just takes a while for the situation to set in.

Slapjack

This story has so much potential but I wish we could see a bit more pragmatism out of the MC. Freeing a fraction of the slaves and trying to heal an elf's emotional trauma is nonsense when he's ultimately going to reset the cycle at some point. Think of all the good he could do if he focused on progression and knowledge for 20 runs.

SayHelloToGod999

I kinda wish Simon was a bit more evil it would make the story so much more interesting!!! I'm still enjoying it though, I just feel like we all know where it's headed. He's going to find a way to level up without doing evil things.

Peeples

“You’ll try and you’ll fail. You are about to begin a journey. They will hound you to the ends of creation, no matter where you flee, how you plead, bargain, and reason. They will scour the impurities from you until all that is left is the devil they feared all along.”

MasterofNova

Highly doubt it. Doesn't even seem like the Overlord can devour the Paladin class perks.

Vik M.

Is it possible for a person to weild the Paladin and Overlord classes at the same time?

MasterofNova

Yes Simon, struggle to be good with all your might until the only path left forward is one of evil. Just like your father wanted. As a sidenote though Eole is starting to give me hella Len vibes, which is unfortunate cause TPR was most fun without her. Fear Eole's character is treading that same path.

David Giles

Just keeping the class out of circulation is doing good with it frankly, given its the Crimson Throne itself that bestows it the class won't just die with its wielder.

George R

Great chapter

Tomas Marcolini

Tftc. Simon has the power to take perks from crestones. Could he do the same in the future from powerful artifacts??. Maybe to avoid the resonance problem for his ring.

Jasus

I hope with him being able to sidestep the civil war he is able to live longer and see the fiends make their move.

Publius Decius Mus

Even if the Overlord class cannot be turned to good use, Simon is in a unique position to understand its secrets and dismantle it.

Antony444

Well, I was wrong, the Cobweb does indeed know Simon is the Overlord...the only question is how they were aware of this when very few persons in the know. Silk seems to be a very interesting character. I can see her very much as an evil counterpart to Anna...of course, Silk herself would probably describe herself as amoral...everything is acceptable as long as the Cobweb is paid its due, after all. I wonder what class she has, and how high-ranked she is. The Prince wouldn't have sent a mere catspaw to meet an Overlord, even a weak one. One thing is relatively sure, Simon is going to have to tolerate the Cobweb for the moment. Even he infiltrates them in a future reign, the organisation seems to be way too well-informed and too powerful, and he has already too many fires to deal with. Speaking of fires, things have changes and the Imperial Civil War is going off with a loud bang. Things are likely going to get awful very, very fast. Both Louis' and Euphemia's factions will be convinced they had nothing to do with the plot and that the other side decided to blow them up. Furthermore, the charade will have been exposed; there's no Overlord ruling anymore. Yeah, I expect Simon is going to learn from a safe distance how bad and vicious House Magnos is when there is no one in charge and power quests are the only thing which mattered. And of course there's Agnes/Belzemine...things are just terribly sad on that front. Balzam was once again his [CENSORED] self, and the worst part is undoubtedly that a ruthless young Overlord would likely have already cut her down. Hells, if Simon did it, he likely would earn five Levels minimum, maybe ten...but he's for the moment a far, far better being than any of the souls who claimed the title of Overlord. Ironically, once again Balzam screwed up his Legacy of Evil there... Rationally, Simon may have little choice to negotiate with the Cobweb in the future...with the problem that if he does that, I have the bad feeling this is going to place him very soon in a collision course with the Paladin. That means 'interesting times', indeed...

CentaureHeart

Would be nice if he managed to kill a very high level monster by the end of the reign. That's what Belzemine's mission should be

Pradian

Ah yes, gonna meet the paladin on the way somehow.

Federico Bellavista

"Surely it was nothing troublesome." ...Yeah, you tell yourself that, Simon.
