Myrdin

I have been wondering. What sort of crestone does Gourmand have? Because that soul extraction seems a lot like something that an Overlord vassal class could do. We don’t know if Balzam has never created it.

FuriousDee

Maybe

Dao Seven

Could it be that Simon and Thalasa had a good relationship, but Balzam ruined it?

alejandrox

Thanks for the chapter XD

Pradian

Necromancer in valne (duo talked about it. Crafter in muse (train episode) Rogue in adventurer loop Adventurer noble class in lore (?) Ranger held by cocagne Only 21 class is identified, missing the last one, maybe it is the musan sniper.

Roman

So the Empire controls 12 of the 22 Noble Classes, leaving 10 outside its control. The known ones among those 10 are: the Librarian (the Lich), the Paladin (Alphonse), the Mage (the Queen of Cocagne), The Ranger Noble Class held by the Queen of Cocagne’s consort, and the Oracle. That leaves five more Noble Classes whose wielders and affiliations are still unknown. We can theorize that two of those are likely the Rogue and the Druid, probably aligned with the Elves, leaving only three truly unknown classes. Maybe the sniper who killed the previous Overlord three times has the Archer Noble Class or perhaps just a hybrid vessel class. Either way, thanks for the chapter!

Lizy Flore

I imagine his first few loops were spent figuring out how to end that battlefield without being killed.

Void Herald

Corrected, thanks ;)

Alexander Smith

Haha he might need them to defeat the demons

Federico

their number had remained unchained->unchanged?

William Keith

Did Balzam’s reign start when he killed the previous overlord? So every restart he goes from just being killed in to what I can only imagine is the middle of a battlefield. That’s got to be intense.

Jasus

He will absolutly make a new Overlord vassal. Maybe a Benevolent Tyrant Class? But it would probably be better to not have more miasma classes spawn. My gut says that that would be bad for everyone.

George R

Great chapter thanks

Antony444

This is an awful pun, and you should be ashamed (sigh). More seriously, I don't a way to get the true Librarian blueprints without defeating Elios Magnos. He's a Lich Level 100, so in most scenarios, you need to assemble a party of 'adventurers' that are over Level 80. And Paimon was bloody certain they were only two in the entire Empire now that Balzam was dead, Louis and Euphemia. Is it 'childplay' to force those two to collaborate?

Void Herald

It was mentioned that Shabram has the Dancer Noble Class in the first few chaps ;)

Antony444

So since our beloved author gave us the critical information...the Empire has 12 out of the 22 Noble Crestones at the beginning of every reign of Simon. Monk and Bard are in the hands of two Viceroys standing as tributaries for the Empire. For the rest, now that Lauriane is confirmed as the Alchemist, we know of nine, all part of the Imperial Council and/or House Magnos. Judge (Euphemia), Warrior( Louis), Cleric (High Confessor), Merchant (Malphas), Commander (Paimon), Rider (Dassein), Berserker (Thalas), Summoner (Norbelle), and Alchemist (Lauriane). That leaves only one that didn't appear so far...

David Giles

I'm not sure Simon's entirely right about his father. The man was a monster beyond compare but something happened to affect him soo badly he killed himself more than once. I wonder what it was, what reign apparently left him so happy he couldn't face not having that happiness or what torture was so great he considered it too much.

Publius Decius Mus

Oh, don't worry Lauriane, I think Simon will get you that Librarian crestone blueprint. And the crestone itself. With Frea at his side it will be childplay!

Antony444

Well, no matter what happens this reign, just having the opportunity to get this entire conversation with Lauriane was worth it, in my humble opinion. Simon definitely got a lot of information about Crestones and Classes he wouldn't have been able to obtain honestly from anywhere else (of if he did, I bet it would have been extremely difficult).

Void Herald

New archetypes can indeed appear, so you may end up with a Gunner or Gunslinger Class one day ;)

Void Herald

You're right, small mistake (the aleas of writing new chapters so fast I guess XD ). Edited his reaction this chapter, thanks for pointing it out.

Garrett Therkorn

I am... confused by Simon's reaction. > “The Librarian?” Simon’s head perked up with immense interest. “We have its blueprints?“ But back in The One Act Play (2), we see... > The mages returned with the fifth prisoner, a gaunt man in his thirties. He looked like the scholarly type at first glance, if a bit unremarkable, yet Simon sensed something strange about him. Something he couldn’t put his finger on. Something… unusual. > > “Oh, that one smells of levels,” Gourmand said with boundless appetite. “Sage… nay, Scholar.” > > “Isn’t that a Vassal Class of the Librarian?” Simon asked. [...] > While there was only one Librarian Crestone in the world, many civilizations managed to create weaker copies by using it as a blueprint. This resulted in more specialized ‘Vassal’ Classes like the Mathematician, the Scholar, and so on. Part of the Empire of Endymion’s success had been its ability to mass-produce those for use in its army, though they remained strictly regulated to ensure the state’s monopoly on them. Then later, in Lord of the Berwick Islands (6): > “His Crestone bore the emblem, and the outfit matched the descriptions,” Simon replied. Although the Class had been lost for ages, part of its blueprints had survived and helped create Vassal Classes like the Scholar. “And House Magnos claims descent from the Librarian.” How is Simon actually surprised by this? It's come up in his internal monologue twice.

CentaureHeart

So technically, you could create another Noble Crestone that taps into another archetype. But I'm guessing the Elves are maybe already looking into that, maybe there are more that we don't know about. Couldn't some of the Vassal Crestone actually become Noble after some time, when they start embodying their Class and Souls enough in the collective consciousness?

FuriousDee

Assuming things don’t go wrong son and he survives the civil war, this reign seems well suited to gathering information during the parade.

Myrdin

Being able to teleport between the castle and the dungeon is a complete game changer. I can’t wait for Simon to create his own crestones. I believe he will be able to create a fake overlord crestone and make someone a fake overlord in future reigns. Or maybe a vassal crestone allowing the wielder to retain memory across reigns In one of the previous reigns we learned that Simon is very talented with miasma based sorcery. It would be nice to learn how much of the talent is his own, not influenced by the class. He also hasn’t had any problems with crafting items, so creating crestones can be a nice test for him.

Will

So the hellblade is an oath breaker Paladin, nice. It’s also hilarious that Simon is getting the Templar class considering that in one timeline he ended up becoming the Paladin.

Owen

creating some vassals using miasma, that'd be interesting. Wonder if it'd even be possible since there's no dark aligned classes besides Overlord, which you can't make vassals from

Alexander Smith

Haha I wonder when he will start making Miasma based crestones. There is already a rotten mana tree that produced Miasma. So it might be possible.

Owen

I was in the middle of binging- reading the last chapter, actually, which I hadn't realized, when I got this notification. Hell of a way to find out I was on the last one, but at least there's one more for the road!
