the annemarie thing is so funny to me because i went to the taylor swift show and like...there is another person at the table. like there's two people but it's just a really long table. so if she's serious then she's saying she owns the concept of a woman sitting at a table 😭

Having worked in foster care in Florida unfortunately her story is very plausible. If her mother is showing up to school every day and is well liked then they would be making a lot of concessions about how she was treating her daughter. There is a problem where abused/neglected kids are not well liked in school including by the teachers and so teachers don’t report things that should be reported. Especially because by the time they reach middle school teachers like expect students to stink because of puberty and things like that. Her experience with Florida DCF is a little iffy in that she says that when the DCF lady would come around she would just go back to that woman’s house, DCF mandates unannounced home visits every 90 days and announced home visits once per month, however, most case management agencies (Florida has a privatized system) agree to unannounced visits every month to be in compliance, however, that doesn’t mean her specific caseworker was following those mandates. Squatting in vacation rentals is also extremely common in Florida and most caseworkers in central and south Florida have clients who are squatting. I live in Philadelphia now and a good 1/3rd of my clients are currently squatters. Its very prevalent.
