🕑 Added 2016-10-28 13:38:27 +0000 UTC I've been quiet this week, patrons, and I know I owe you a color character profile and a color illustration yet for October, but I hurt my wrist last Saturday (cleaning the house, of all the dumbest things) and wasn't able to bend it or hold a pencil for a few days :( A doctor visit and an x-ray confirms I've just strained it, which means my tendons feel like they're on fire, haha. Icing it, bracing it, and resting it has been my daily regiment since Saturday.Since I've never injured my wrist before, I'm heeding the advice of my fellow artists who gave me plenty of ominous warnings that trying to work through wrist pain wasn't a good idea and would extend the healing process. Unfortunately, that means I'm a week behind in my work, and I can tell you this has been the most frustrating and upsetting injury I have ever had! Drawing is a huge part of life for me and being physically unable to do it feels like a crisis of the ages, haha.
It's on the mend, though, so I'm going to try and ease back into sketching lightly this weekend. I just wanted to give you the heads up I haven't been slacking off intentionally. :)

So, that really really sucks. THINGS NOT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE A SPRAINED or STRAINED WRIST Type a lot. Draw. Juggle. Lift weights (without a full wrist wrap). Knead Bread. Boxing (combat) or other punching. Wrestle with pets. Vigorous "personal activities" with the afflicted wrist. Scrubbing hard in the shower. Pushing off the bed. Whipping cream by hand. Flipping pancakes in a cast-iron pan. Slapping a B**h. Driving a car without power steering. Making a Snowman. (I'm sure there are others.)
