This is how I enjoy smooth gameplay and keep all my beloved CC safe. 😊
I have over 30 GB of CC and mods – and my game still runs like a dream. Here's my simple but genius method:
🔸 1. Create a "Clean Game" Setup
🔹 Start a new save in The Sims 4.
🔹 Place only your main characters in it for Story (like me, KD, Ryuga, etc.).
🔹 Use just your essential and stable mods (like Wicked Whims,MCCC, UI Cheats, TOOL, etc.).
🔹 Leave all other CC out of your Mods folder – this keeps the game clean and fast.
🔸 2. Save Your Sims with Tray Importer!
ðŸ§â€â™€ï¸ Important: If your Sims use CC, always back them up with the Tray Importer before removing your CC.
→ Otherwise, they might load incorrectly or appear broken without their custom content!
Tray Importer - DOWNLOAD
Tray Import allows you to save your Sims/families with CC outside of the EA Gallery. I've been using this tool since the beginning and still have all the families that are no longer in my game.
🗂 Move your extra CC into a separate folder on your hard drive (e.g., “CC Backupâ€) so it’s safely stored.

🔸 3. Add CC Only When You Need It
🔹 Want to create a new Sim or give someone a makeover?
âž¡ï¸ Just drop your 30 GB CC back into the Mods folder temporarily.
âž¡ï¸ Load the game, do what you need in CAS or live mode.
âž¡ï¸ Then: remove the CC again – and go back to your light, smooth gameplay!

Well, for me it's more practical because I only restyle or create my Sims when I want to show my animation, pose, etc. I don't need that many CC's to play. 😆

Sorry, I forgot about the Tray Importer, you have to save your family / Sim in the library and then save it with Tray Importer + CC , the download link is in the description 😚

How do you play with the cc you've used if you remove it? Or are you leaving in what you used & removing the rest?

How I to it too lol 😂 mostly cause it drives me made when your trying to find something in game and searching for hours 🤦ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸ I my folders saved as kids, infants, children, wedding pack and restaurants extra. So when I want to use one I’ll pop it back in mods
