No rough page for this one - originally I had this and the next page smashed into a single page, but I hated it once I sketched it out! What looked ok in the roughs stage looked rushed and confusing in the sketch stage. It needed a few extra panels of downward spiral to work, so here we are, taking a few extra beats for Ethan's realization and Malthus gearing up for a terrible time (;╹⌓╹) aaaahhhh

Again, Malthus completely misses the point of "love." the fact that Ethan is able to recognize this isn't Al so quickly *means* they love each other. No illusion can fake that.
