Lwów, when still under Polish rule had a significant Armenian population living there as well as, strangely enough, Scottish folks. I can only assume that would have been a very interesting time for everyone involved.

To be fair the only reason why Poland isn't using the cyrillic alphabet is because of which flavour of church they went with, but also you could possibly throw in the historical dislike of Ukrainians and Russians. It's a very interesting part of the world.
