Arenus - State of the Game February 2019

Today we're going to present you some of the things we've been working on in the last few months.
KIWI
KIWI is your guide through Arenus. This artificial intelligence functions as both an immersive tutorial, a provider of useful hints and a personal assistant. She's an innocent AI though, so don't try to lewd her!
Map Reworks
One thing we've noticed with some of our maps is a lack of depth. While Arenus is a 2D game, there's still ways to make the city look and feel three dimensional. Because of that the team has endeavored to rework a few maps and we're really proud of the results.
UI Rework
Another thing that's really important to us is the UI. A good user interface is easy and fast to use, while still looking good and feeling intuitive.
We're reworking the UI of Arenus to check all those boxes and i'm sure this extra effort will be noticeable once you get your hands on the game.
Vasdonas
Vasdonas was a dull, barren planet which lacked a breathable atmosphere. Due its high concentrations of palladium and other rare materials, Vasdonas was colonized by various entities that eventually became a ruling group known as the Mining Guilds.
To counter the lack of atmosphere, a cheap, artificial atmosphere was created, a process considered more cost efficient than equipping hundreds of thousands of workers with breathing equipment to survive the inhospitable conditions.
In Arenus you will encounter the effects and side effects of this cheap version of terraforming. Of course, the weather will also have an impact as you walk through the cities of Vasdonas too.
During a rainy day, you will encounter fewer NPCs on the streets. While on a cold day, there may be a special offer on a warming dish at your character's local food place.
