About Arenus - Being a Warden
🕑 Added 2018-06-12 15:56:52 +0000 UTC Hey folks!I would like to start this State of the Game post with a special announcement.
Cross Promotion
We’re doing a special cross promotion with the developers of Sense - A Cyberpunk Ghost Story. Sense is an Ecchi Cyberpunk game with stunning visauls, and a very cool setting

Aoiichi (check out their music here), our lead sound artist/composer for Arenus, is also lending their talents to the Sense soundtrack. Given the similarities between our games, we thought it would be a good chance to help each other.

Please be sure to check out the Sense Kickstarter here. Like Arvus Games, they share the same goal of delivering a great game with sexy visuals in cool settings. They have put a lot of hard work and effort into this passion project.

Being a Warden
In Arenus you are the warden. It's your job to make sure that the business keeps running and it's very important for us that you get to choose how to do so.
Every good management game of course requires you to plan and manage your resources wisely. Here are some you can expect in Arenus.

Action Points, probably the most important resource in Arenus.
They are used for jobs and activities. You can only do so much in a single day, Action Points represent that. They will often force you into decisions.
Should I use my last two Action Points for this day to reduce Elona's stress or increase her Agility for the next fight?
Action Points completely replenish each in-game day and there are ways to increase your Action Points temporarily or even permanent.

This one's easy. Credits are the currency of the game. They are used in most parts of the world of Arenus.
Nothing is free on Vasdonas. You need to earn credits to train your gladiator, buy new equipment or food and drinks and for optional features like upgrading your home.
There are many ways to earn credits in Vasdonas. Of course your gladiator could work an extra job, some may even boost her stats. There are more risky activities and naturally side quests.

Stress ... Your gladiator's stress level will be your enemy outside of the Arena.
There may be a day in Arenus where you short in credits, so you make Armida work all day as Waitress or on the Construction Side.
What does happen? Exactly. Her Stress level increases.
How can you avoid or fix that? By planning a balanced mix of activities for your gladiator or paying for nice massages at the local spa. Some foods and drinks may also reduce Stress.
Of course you can also leave Action Points unused because free time means less stress.

Action Points, Credits and Stress will be the three ressources you'll always keep an eye on while playing Arenus.
Of course there are other variables in Arenus like:
- Affection - A Gladiator that likes you can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation.
- Satisfaction - A Gladiator doesn't need to like her warden to be happy with her results in the Arena and stay with you. Being stern can have its advantages.
- Motivation - Your Gladiator's Motivation has an impact on tasks and activities. A motivated Gladiator may earn some extra credits in a job or gets an extra Intelligence Point during training.
We hope you folks like what you see. Next time we'll talk about Stats, Training and Combat in Arenus!
See you around! Especially for Vesper's Booty!

Well, I wouldn't ask for a specific release date, but the title "state of game" has pretty much "content of the game", but I have yet to find any clue about it's state for at least have a better guess. Q2 is ending soon, so will it still be Q2, will it postpone by a month, to Q3, to this year, to "when it's done"?
Wildquill
We appreciate that kind of support but we are working hard to make sure the wait time is a bit shorter.
this sound like something i will go on it forever and still gonna love it

Thank you very much Snowfire.

ETA on a possible release date for Arenus?
Kaliyo
Haha, no worries. Arenus won't be as punishing as Darkest Dungeon by far. Also we won't have unfair RNG.
Snowfire
wow this looks amazing
Dyamonde
Stress Level as a tracked Stat? I'm getting bad Flashbacks to Darkest Dungeon all of a sudden :p Please tell me they won't get Paranoid and then have a Heart Attack.
Thanks Kaliyo, I do appreciate it. I know there are varying tastes, and limited time or resources. I know Seren's 2nd and 3rd scenes are a very small part of Roundscape as a whole, but they're a majority for Seren as a character. I hope she will have more player scenes in the future, that can be accessed without triggering the NTR ones. Anyway, I'm happy to hear that about Arenus. I like supporting your games and I admire your transparency and communication with fans. I look forward to playing an NTR-free playthrough of Arenus. Your team makes great games.
Kaliyo
Hey Simon, as in Roundscape every Scene in Arenus is the result of a Decision. You can play through all of Arenus and only experiences scenes that include the player character. Variety is very important for us and we're aware that some things are more popular than others which is why we're always making sure they are optional. Seren's two scenes are like 1-2% of Roundscape's total amount of Scenes. It's also a decision of story and character design. One of the flaws of pure harem games. If everyone is special, no one is. If everyone loves the PC, no one does. There needs to be contrast in characters. But yes, no worries. We're very aware of the trends and opinions around the webs, but we will always do whats best for the world and story.
Hi Kaliyo, can a male protagonist complete Arenus without any forced NTR? I love Roundscape, but I've been disappointed in some of the change in direction. For example, Seren's first scene was with the player only. Her next two were just NTR, and no player content in sight. It's rough. Please remember male protagonist players! Thank you.
