Upcoming Intro Cutscene Revision
🕑 Added 2022-12-04 05:21:39 +0000 UTCWhen I first created the intro cutscene for Yandere Simulator, I was extremely proud of it. However, now that I'm looking back at it 3 years later, I feel like I could do much better. I'm considering the idea of completely revising the visuals of the intro cutscene so that the game makes a bunch better impression on anyone who plays the demo build during the upcoming crowdfunding campaign.
I know that a lot of people stopped paying attention to Yandere Simulator a few years ago. When someone returns to Yandere Sim after a 3 year absence from it, I want them to say, "WOW! This game has come so far and improved so much! I have faith that the final product will turn out good!" and one of the factors that will help to accomplish that will be a completely revised intro cutscene.
The above video is a short clip demonstrating some visual changes that I recently made to the game's intro cutscene. (You can watch the original video here.) Ideally, every single camera shot of the intro will be revised just as much.

I try not to bother the character model guy too often, since he's in a rough spot because of the Russia/Ukraine situation. But, I'll message him and ask him for an update.

Kokona won't be in the intro cutscene, but will be featured in the tutorial.

From the Main Menu, access the Content Checklist. On the Content Checklist screen, press the "R" key. This will open a hidden debug window that allows you to completely remove all Yandere Simulator data from your computer: https://i.imgur.com/CTkCW5C.png Pressing "E" 10 times will delete all your save data and Content Checklist progress, but it has been proven to fix the "Students stopped spawning at school" bug.

I agree with this. What would fetch a *LOT* of attention is if you kept that original white and black design. Also, the zooming out gives is a somewhat comedic effect.
It looks cool! By the way, are the new models still under development?

Wow this looks amazing. Question tho will the cutscenes have kokona because I heard in one of the video you made about kokona that she will be the person you kill in the tutorial for rehearsal. And will it give the idea to ayaho to kill each rival because I think you said that in the video. If you can’t answer that yet I’m ok with waiting. Anyways I love it

what do i do when kaguya (1st rival) doesn't appear like at all, i started a new game and she just won't appear, someone please help

This looks awesome!! It's so great to see you always improving the game. I wonder if you'll ever revise some of the lines. I felt that some of the dialogue in the intro was somewhat repetitive, and sometimes that works stylistically, but other times it feels redundant.

Oh, it looks like the white colour symbolising emptiness is gone. Before, the white being so blank made her seem like she was just a blank slate with no colour in her life. Instead it has black, which seems to represent her darkness, the bitterness she feels for her condition. Or that she just feels like a shadow, perhaps of what she could be if she was whole. The red on the inside looks like blood, which would seems to symbolise her mental illness being as bad as a physical one. Or perhaps her anger at being empty.
