I had GP5 for many years and upgraded to GP7 during a sale, good price. I can't stress enough of how helpful GP is for music all around. I'm not sure that having Bernth doing GP tutorials is a good use of his time. There are GP tutorials everywhere else that can be viewed. The value that was shown here is that he is like everyone else, you need to put your pants on one leg at at time. Transcribing takes time and patience. But worth it in the end.

Interesting that you are using GP in german. I mean... sure why... and I do it too :D but I know a lot of german speaking people that are mostly using programs in english for some reason that are not THAT familiar speaking that language as frequent as you. Anyhow... I indeed thought you are using a newer Version of GP and are just exporting it into GP5 since this is the most spreaded one and tbh... for me the best version out there. I tried GP6 a long time ago (wow... GP5 really is THAT old...) just to come back to GP5 pretty fast. Didn't even try 7 and now that we are speaking of it I see there already is an eigth version out of it xD

A great new feature in gp 8 is that you can now import actual mp3s, which makes transcribing waay easier and accurate, since you can play your tabs and the record in parallel. Additionally, you can just transpose the mp3 with one click. So you can play along to your favorite band's actual music in your tuning. I've also used the transpose feature for dropping some rhythm guitar Bernth workouts to B, for my 7 string guitar. :D

Thank you Bernth this is brilliant! I used guitar pro all through highschool and for my music exams to help me practice guitar and it helped me so much because of the inbuilt metronome . It allows you to slow down songs when learning them and it helps me to practice writing out rhythms and transcribing music, I still use it every day and it's part of my practice routine. I really love seeing how your songs are built as you compose in quite a unique way 👌. Rock on 🤘

Thanks for this Bernth! I've got a love-hate relationship with GP... and honestly even with latest version 8 you've not missed many improvements. That said, after all this time I somehow didn't realize there was a fretboard view! This will save me time! Thanks again!

Bernth, I love Guitar Pro and it has been such an important tool is helping me develop my skills. Please expand on this lesson and show more. Including how you write the bass and drum parts as well as use the MIDI files. Also, any pointers on how to transcribe other people's songs? It's one thing to know how you played your piece, it's another to try to figure out what someone else is playing and where on the fretboard they're playing it.
