I LOVE THIS SO MUCH HOLY SMOKES

Jamie Morris

This is a much more light-hearted version of this song; it's very sweet. Love the little laughs you added in it. It almost feels like a different song. :)

Dennis Fang

I love this version. It's different, and as much as I hate to use the word, it's a "BOP" xD

Hannah

omg this is so different but a good different! Love it x

Barry Aldridge

This sounded really good.

Titch Turfrey

This is so good though, I love the actual sing but this feels like a summer bop x

Keean Coogan

This is really cool you know, “you go and tell yourself someday I’ll want you back” would have been nice on the released single, as a switch up for the last chorus. Loving this Patreon and looking forward to more demos! Defiantly going to up my tier when money’s stable again, more then worth it!

Grace

I really like this, kinda sounds like 2007 pop punk?? Maybe.

I haven’t listened to sucks to be you in a while so it took me so long to figure out what’s different about the lyrics in this one and then when you said the ‘you go and make the pitch that your ex girlfriends a bitch’ line I was like OOOOOOOHHHH THATS IT! 😂 I really like the original but this version is cool too! 🙂

Thomas Edwards

I have a big love for the studio released Sucks To Be You, and I've seen you play it live three times, it's one of my favourite songs, and is so catchy and such a great tune to jump around too. That being said, I honestly don't mind the sound of this demo version, but I do prefer the released version from the EP.

Jake

This one is honestly really good I still love the badass punk version we got buck dude!! This one is a nice laid back version

Justin Peck

This is great! And it’s such a different song than the badass released version, that I don’t even really feel the need to compare them!

Bee Singleton

I like this, it's more laid back, but shouting to the STBY EP is almost essential so I think the released version fits better

JackSurvivalwolf

I like this one but it's still nothing in comparison to the finished version, this one sounds more pretty than petty so I'm glad you took out the r

Kia

the studio version gives off badass/middle finger kinda vibes, and this one gives off "idgaf about you, just here for a good time" vibes and both are moods! i love how versatile a single song can sound depending on how it's being produced

Flo Oram

This sounds so different, definitely more pop than the actual version! Also the different in lyrics in the chorus are throwing me off 😂

Emma Blackery

Thanks, but I’d say this serves that purpose! :)

ItsKyle

I love the Ha’s. It’s like you’re laughing at the person

ItsKyle

I love this!!!

Quackimjaq

This is neato

Artis Zaķis

I'd say it would definitely be most interesting to hear demos for songs that sound very different in both forms. Either they started off with a different idea in mind like Dirt or the simple demo for a really production-heavy song like Third Eye

Merridy

I love this!! I love how different and yet familiar it is at the same time!

Siân Williams

This sounds so cool! You should record a version in this style 👍

Alannah Bradley

I don't know which version I like better this is almost a different song

Sonny

It’s so interesting how that’s changed, it’s got a much funkier feel and like you said lighter to. This is great 🙂 I think I still prefer the released version, although that laughing riff is gold. 👌🏼

Glyn Davis

I really loved this 'cleaner less cluttered, crisper' version. I loved the released version too of course, but it was nice to hear the demo that lead to the released version. Thanks for sharing.

JER51

This is so cool!! I love the Acapella vocals at the start

Connor Wiffen

It’s like stepping into an alternative timeline! Very interesting take on what was eventually released 🎶

jasper

This has just reminded me of how long it's been since I listened to STBY! I actually quite like how much lighter the demo sounds in comparison to the release, but I like the joking, flippant feel that this has, a Lot!

Haddie

wow this is so cool! i think i prefer the released version though! neat to hear this version too!

Poppy Davis

The stby era was was one of my faves and this is iconic 😍
