This was a literal who's who of blues, jazz, and soul music, the guys in the band included. Some of the most iconic musicians ever, performing their absolute hearts out, for a "fever dream" (to steal Jordan's assessment from the end) of a movie celebrating what Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi loved: music. I hope you two do pick up the soundtrack, because it is amazing, but I also hope you'll dive deeper into the oeuvre of these musicians. They are absolutely phenomenal. Loved your reaction, so fun to watch 😃

The more you think about this movie and what it has to say about America the greater it is. The featured musicians all have Lifetime Achievement Grammy awards: Cab Calloway, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, John Lee Hooker, and Ray Charles. These are legends of music.

My neighborhood theater shows classics all the time. I was at a screening of this the night Matt "Guitar" Murphy passed away. I let management know and they did a little dedication before the movie. We might have been the only theater showing the movie that night in the country. Such a memorable time at the theater. Next, I highly recommend National Lampoon's Animal House (starring John Belushi and another movie Directed by John Landis) 🍿

They don't include him in the credits where they were featuring the artists, but Steven Spielberg was the county assessor at the end. Also, some other movies made by the director, John Landis, that you might enjoy : "Animal House" (1978), "An American Werewolf in London" (1981), "Three Amigos" (1986) and "Coming to America" (1988) - which y'all y'all need to see before you forget what you saw in "Trading Places".

I don't remember your exact words, but when you said something like "By the end of the movie, they're going to have so many people after them!" fairly early in the movie, I actually had to pause the reaction to just sit and laugh for a few.

Yes, both Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi did their own vocals in this movie. They also toured multiple times in the decades that followed the movie, even after Belushi passed. Pretty good for a "band" that started as a recurring sketch on "Saturday Night Live".
