LAB SESSION 01 - It's easy to make good work better
🕑 Added 2022-08-26 17:30:44 +0000 UTCHey guys, so we did our first Lab Session! Basically doing notes on existing work, with the goal of not making it better necessarily, rather to show that if asked for something, how to make micro-tweaks to evolve the drawing to the client's need.

SUMMARY OF THESE THREE:
- 1. DAN HERNANDEZ: He gave me a sweet standing pose. So for him, it revolved around maintaining that stoic pose while juicing up the rest of the drawing to add a bit of life/motion to it. So fabric, folds, wind, dust, these are all things to consider. Also beefed up his back, which allowed to push out the arms a bit. You can see the drawing is different, but definitely maintains the integrity of the original.
- 2. Jaheim Campbell: He picked the classic "Goku dying on Namek" shot! So the question is for him, "What's the essence of the pose?" His answer was, "The... mouth?" WRONG! The answer is the CHEST! So let's start at that chest, put all the energy into it, and blow up from there. With a simple bend and a bit of foreshortening, you have a super charged version of his drawing, with really just a few minor tweaks.
- 3. Luke Thompson: With the trademark Kamehameha pose, for Luke I offered what was simple; a slight pose suggestion to make the character balance a bit stronger. So maintaining the gaze he has, I drew that head and led in with the shoulder. Added a bit of energy to the hand tension, and the rest is history!

Not sure who will see this but can anyone tell me what the Kanji on the back of Goku’s Gi means? I know it’s not Kame like the original one is.
