Time to get my "accccccctually" out. So Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 are set within the same time period. 1 is the story with Darth Revan and Malak. 2 takes place after Revan decided to GTFO and go on a spirit quest, so in 2 you play the role of the Jedi Exile. This is where you face off against Darth Nihilus, Scion and Traya. So both these stories are set like 5 years from each other and are connected. The Old Republic is an MMO but is set 300 years after Revan and the stories of KOTOR 1 &2. This is where you get the Jedi vs Sith Empire and all those bad ass cutscenes with Darth Malgus...who yes is a Vader KO but still cool. For the record, The Old Republic was hands down one of the best Star Wars gaming experiences I have ever had, rivaled only by Tie Fighter. Revan did play a minor role in the other all story of the game, but this one was more about the individual class stories (like Bounty Hunter, Sith Warrior, etc). Then TOR jumps the shark a bit with an expansion Knights of the Fallen Empire, which is the one Adam was talking about with all the guys in white armor. It introduces a 3rd type of faction outside the Jedi vs Sith, almost like a gray faction, but story got boring so it eventually tanked. Anyways all this story telling takes place in the span of 300+ years, so while there's a lot of room for additional stories like the old Tales of the Jedi comics, if they touch Revan they're almost painting themselves in a corner since yes, fans are so passionate about it. As a fan of the Old Republic, I want them to stay away from it. They won't get it right, they won't appease the fans, just leave well enough alone.
