Maneki Neko Designs
🕑 Added 2021-10-08 18:43:06 +0000 UTCWe're playing around with an idea to create a new character that brings in more money from all Jobs (which is super helpful in the early game stage). I thought it would be cute if she was a maneki neko / lucky cat themed girl. Here are some initial concepts from Azayuki (1-15) and my color suggestions (A-D). I'm wondering if elements of her body type are too similar to Suzu & Charlotte, so I wonder if people would care? Let us know if you like any of these designs and why ^^

for what its worth I like "c" the most and I initially thought it was a suzu concept, but its like a 50% similarity so with minor tweaks it would be original in my opinion =)

I agree with Mur Moruno. Age wise Renee/Honey +10 /15 years? Also with 8/A (but my fashion/color corrdination sense has been equated to that of an Ork) Matronly be a good fit. The "been there/done that" look could fit with the Lucky direction of character.

I like 13 (basically the same as D but with different eye color,) but with the clothing scheme of B.
I like a mix of the dark hair and B's hairstyle, and C's clothing :)

Yeah I like that idea! The short body type suits her if she's more like a cat, but if we go the goddess direction then taller/more mature would be a good body fit!

If you don't want the design and her body type looks too similar to Suzu or Charlotte, you can make her older , maybe have her wear a kimono and make her look more noble / godly? I think that could be an interesting way to present the "lucky god" But overall, I really love how the designs looking so far π

I actually had to go back and read again which characters you thought she might be too similar to, and going off that alone, I think you're off to a good start. I can see Suzu now that you point it out, I think a lot of that is in the raised curled hand though, so it's more her pose than her outfit, and even then I don't get that feeling from 14 and 15. (I think it's the hair length, but I can't put my finger on it) Also don't forget that a lot of what makes these characters memorable is in their voice and dialogue, so that could go a long way to helping distinguish her from the others and helping people overlook any similarities. Hopefully that helps, even if just a bit, I've been trying to learn how to give better feedback.
