I have some thoughts. Personally, I prefer there not to be guys unless there is intercourse, even if that intercourse is only implied or not directly visible that'd be fine too, as long as there is intercourse happening. However, I think you should draw what makes you happiest to draw first and foremost, and your art is so great that I'm gonna stick around regardless. Best wishes.

This reminds me of "Ganbare, Douki-chan" by the artist よむ on pixiv. They basically made a one panel comic about a girl and her crush, it was so cute and even got animated

I know about idol culture, but the fact that this happens with vtubers and gacha characters is kinda crazy

Especially in Asia, vtubers and idols get bullied and are even driven to quitting by community if they're found to have a relationship. Another example is Snowbreak which is a gacha game, the developers deleted all male characters aside from protagonist because Chinese community couldn't cope with a hot dude next to their waifu.

I'm all in for drawing a boyfriend, but I worry you would get bullied for it like vtubers. Perhaps you could consider drawing some first person POV, it makes it easier for you with anathomy while keeping minah in center of the attention

I’m for adding a male character but not a boyfriend per se, maybe more as a self-insert with his face blurred. And Minah should always be at center stage of course. But with that said it is your art and your skill and if this is something you want to pursue, then you should. Keep up the great work!

In my mind, she functions better solo. Partially because that's how I'm used to seeing her, but I also think it feeds better into her cool/distant model character. And she seems like a girl that shines in the spotlight, something she'd risk losing that way. Occasional pairings or collabs are par for the course, but a dedicated boyfriend (or girlfriend, even as much as I love yuri) would feel strange, out of place.

I think some people will be resistant to the idea as people love to "self insert" and this would break that illusion (it tends to happen in real life depressingly often too) I think it’s fine either way, it would be fun to see here yandere and tundere side react with people! You could also use objects instead, but that can be creatively limiting, but it's similar to the NSFW switch some people will not like it no matter what (boyfriend/girlfriend/solo work with a phallic object), So do what you feel like without the pressure of what some people dislike or ask!

Imo the bf (or a gf) should be framed in a way that still puts minah in focus of the art. A guy with features feels out-of-place if I can't self-insert or draw a connection with said character.

Personally, I would really not enjoy a dedicated boyfriend. I just feel like arbitrary male side characters would fit her more. Also, the focus would feel more like it is on Minah when the second character is not recurring but a random or featureless male (or occasional female, which wouldn't be possible anymore if she was in a relationship).

Chaesu, you have always had an exceptional amount of class with your drawings. Even your NSFW images hold a regal sense. Adding a boyfriend may diminish that quality as I think many of the hungry fans are looking for you to skirt the line of vulgarity more, which isn’t what I think you see Minah as. Been a fan for years and excited to see you contribute to grow your art. Just keep being true to your vision of Minah. Maybe opt for boyfriend but never on the NSFW side?

I personally don’t mind, you should draw whatever you want and not mind people who don’t like it. From a “how would this affect my audience/SNS growth” perspective, I would slowly ease into it over time. Such as drawing them together, but the guy’s face is hidden. And then gauge reactions from there on whether or not to show the full face. Obviously you’re free to do whatever, that’s just my 2 cents for what I’d do in your position. Someone else might just rip off the bandaid instead. Or even just keep it on the down low behind a pay wall.

Yes! I've mentioned it in another comment, but please let there be an ice vs fire theme with both of them. Minah being the cold, quiet tsundere who acts cool and collected all the time. Meanwhile her boyfriend being the extroverted golden retriever of a man whose energy exhausts Minah XD. Bonus points if his hair is red. Then you can draw them with Minah doing actual modelling poses while her boyfriend does goofy af poses like it was Jojo's Bizarre Adventure XD
