First off, hello, and to an old classic, first time commenter, long time watcher, but I'm going to throw in my money for a little Netflix original called Klaus. It is a wonderful, animated movie about the origins of Santa and Christmas, and it is beautiful in all aspects, from animation, to story and music, it has taken my number one spot for favorite Christmas movie. So if you don't watch it as a reaction, at least watch it in your free time, you won't regret it.

I do consider Die Hard a Christmas movie! :) I worded it that way in hopes that it would be understood it's Christmas themed (like a lot of Shane Black movies) but not necessarily about Christmas itself. Also on top of the Christmas "shopping" at the beginning of KKBB I think the party he gets flown out to in LA is a Christmas party. It's less integral to the plot than in Die Hard but still very much part of the film. Cheers!

White Christmas (1954) ——— I really appreciate how organized and complete you have everything! I actually found some Marvel shows I haven’t heard of before thanks to you. I was just wondering if there were plans to do ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ and the other Marvel shows? Also, while the D.C. Movies are a bit of a mess, I really enjoyed their TV shows, aka: The Arrowverse. They all tie into one another much like the Marvel movies. It’s a great watch and plenty of content that I don’t see many reactors taking advantage of.

Yes, "Black Christmas" was remade in the '00s, and, like nearly all horror remakes, it's apparently terrible, from what I hear.

It's a very LA Xmas story about people with no family(or who are mostly cut off from theirs). Alot of it is about surviving Xmas time, both emotionally and physically, as well as coming to terms with yourself, both your failures and accomplishments, not to mention letting in people who care about you.

The main character's act at the "beginning" of the movie are tied to him getting something for his daughter for Xmas and that act sets the entire story in motion. The movie's also about how hard it is for some people during the holidays, what Xmas in LA looks like, and how important it is to accept yourself and let other people in. Sounds pretty Xmas-y to me.

Wait. Was there a remake of "Black Christmas"? I know I saw a movie with that title, but I was absolutely positive it was a lot more recent than '74. My DAD wasn't even alive yet in '74!

Agreed. They actually do both have numerous connections to the holiday in plot, dialogue AND setting. I feel like you meant that facetiously but both actually have enough connection to Christmas that I would call them Christmas movies. Unlike stuff like "Iron Man 3" or "Lethal Weapon," where if you deleted the very few references to Christmas, the movie would basically be unchanged.

Fantastic movie. I really want to see it on the channel. But the Christmas connection is just... barely there. I would LOVE to see Addie react to it, but it seems a waste to use a Christmas slot for it.

I love that movie! I'd vote for it at a different time of year though. It doesn't really have any connection to Christmas besides taking place at Christmas time. And even that is forgettable. I've seen the movie like 5 times and didn't even remember it was set at Christmas.

Mostly great suggestions there! I hope they all end up on the channel eventually. Personally though, "Enemy of the State" and "Lethal Weapon" aren't Christmas movies in my eyes. They just happen to take place then. I feel like there needs to be a meaningful plot-related connection to the holiday, not just a few "Merry Christmas"es and an occasional Christmas tree in the background.

I consider "Die Hard" a Christmas movie not just because it takes place at Christmas, but also because the plot is enabled because it's Christmas (there's no one in the building except the Christmas party because of the holiday, and John McClaine is in LA visiting for the holiday), because it contains DOZENS of spoken references to the holiday (everything from Ho-Ho-Ho to the whole "Twas the night before Christmas" thing), because they use Christmas music in both soundtrack and score, and because even the set decorations include Christmas trees and lights. People scoff, but Die Hard actually has a ton of tie-ins to the holiday. I know you were being sarcastic and I'm guessing you don't consider "Die Hard" a Christmas movie. So I apologize for my reflexive defense of its Holiday movie status. I absolutely love "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" as a movie, but it has virtually no actual tie-ins to the holiday. I wouldn't equate the two. Of course, everyone seems to have their own idea of what makes a Christmas movie, but for me, just taking place at Christmas isn't enough. ("Critters 2" takes place at Easter, but I wouldn't call it an Easter movie.) Christmas has to feature visually, in dialogue, and also tie in with the plot in some substantial way.

Jingle All the Way is a great holiday Arnold Schwarzenegger film you could add to your lineup of True Lies and sci-fi Schwarzenegger. I don't consider it on the level of 90's classics like Home Alone, but it is one of my dad's and my personal favorites and has gained a cult following because of how absurd and fun and over-the-top it is. You'd get a kick out of it, Addie; it is very unique in how it magnifies holiday commercialism and focuses on the more stressful side of the Christmas season. It also has some notable cast members including Phil Hartman from SNL, Jake Lloyd who played the little boy Anakin Skywalker from Episode I, and Harvey Korman had a small role. And Sinbad was a fun antagonist and complemented an already entertaining Arnold quite well. That's my pick this year.

Unlike most people here apparently, I'm not above a re-watch every once in a blue moon -- especially if it's a movie that interests me and/or part of a franchise. Addie's already technically done a few for the channel. I mean, if it's been a long time since a reactor has seen said movie, it often times still comes off as a first watch.

For Xmas Suggestions : The Bishop`s Wife 1947 starring Cary Grant, Loretta Young & David Niven, Scrooge 1951 starring Alistair Sim, The Shop Around the Corner 1940 starring James Stewart, Margaret Sullavan, Miracle On 34th Street 1947 (preferred but !994 is almost as good). Like It`s A Wonderful Life or White Xmas these 4 are traditional Old fashioned Xmas Fare. The first two & M.O. 34th St, on Xmas Eve, if I can. I think, you would enjoy them, they really represent Xmas as I knew it, even as a kid in the U.K. in the `60`s. (Xmas shop window display`s were still more important than Tv ad`s then.)

Definitely have to watch Muppet Christmas Carol. Yes it has some silly Muppet stuff(which I love, don't get me wrong), but it's also my favorite adaptation of the story, Michael Caine's sublime performance as Scrooge will break your heart. The other must-watch every Christmas for me is A Charlie Brown Christmas. And if you want something that's a bit less "family-friendly", The Ref starring Dennis Leary. :)

Highly recommend George C. Scott "A Christmas Carol". Even just as something to watch without a reaction. not necessarily as much "fun" as some of the others. more serious. but, considering i thought it was impressive and well done as a child, i would suggest it. personally love Muppet Christmas Carol. be quite good for a reaction. and, as long as i'm sticking with that theme.....Bill Murry "Schrooged" (mid to late 80's) is kind of fun take on it too.
