I would love to see her watch the entire Godfather trilogy, with The Godfather (1972), The Godfather: Part II (1974) and a newly recut version of The Godfather Part III (1990) called The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone (2020), soon.

That's a strong list of four films. I can't say I've ever seen a reactor do Requiem.

I hope it's not just a bunch of war movies, since I feel heaviness and war movies pretty much go without saying; heavier subject matter in everyday life (as in the 4 movies I mentioned above) is far more devastating, IMO. Again, I'm hoping Addie starts stepping out of her comfort zone a bit more in coming months and takes on movies she never would've watched otherwise. She's previously mentioned interest in the "Godfather" trilogy, and I feel that would be a good starting point for her.

I'd vote for Se7en (1995) if it's ever on that poll. But I think it's gonna be some more depressing movies that'll make Addie cry.

More than just the scattered light chuckles we got from her in "WALL-E," "Airplane!," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," and the 2 Monty Python movies? It's a shame those aren't movies that interest me, if that's the case. 🤷‍♂

I am actually just shocked Beverly HIlls Cop is beating any of the other three. Not that it's bad, quality wise it's as good as the others. But those other ones are like universally cited as favorite comedies among the internet generation(s).

Not to mention "Commando," "The Running Man," and "Total Recall" -- along with T3 as well, those are the only other Arnie action movies that are genuinely worth seeing. As far as James Cameron goes, I'll add "The Abyss" as well.

Who knows, I think Addie will get a very good laugh from Beverly Hills Cop (1984), Happy Gilmore (1996) & Anchorman (2004). I (like most people I know) usually prefer Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler & Will Ferrell in the comedy route. And Adam Sandler's most respective work is Uncut Gems (2019).

Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell vehicles tend to be too broad/lowbrow/stupid (take your pick) for my tastes. Their best respective works are still "Punch-Drunk Love" and "Stranger Than Fiction," IMO. And I honestly feel Eddie Murphy is better when he's counterbalanced by another actor, à la Nick Nolte in "48 Hours," Dan Aykroyd in "Trading Places," or Mike Myers in the "Shrek" movies. That leaves "The Big Lebowski" as my default pick, even though I think it's probably the Coen Brothers' most overrated film. Of course, given that Addie has shown to not be much of a laugher, perhaps it's a moot point all around.

Hey, look at that, it is free on Peacock (only one I checked). I thought it was still in that weird licensing/streaming/whatever Hollywood bullshit that still keeps us from streaming other movies, like "The Abyss".
