Scot Jebens
She already recorded the November Q&A. What’s your source on ‘too many questions’?
Aldo Gonzales
Yo, too many questions. And she’s already answered some of them before.
Thomas Wetherell
I’d love to visit someday if I could. I have a close friend who was stationed at Okinawa for a couple years, never got to go to Iwo Jima though both because of the one day a year window and the pandemic.
Scot Jebens
I’ve actually been to Iwo Jima on a tour. It’s only opened up one day a year to tourists. The pilot and copilot on the flight talked about what a big competition they have to be the ones to make the flight!
Thomas Wetherell
Do you have any interest in watching Flags of Our Fathers and or Letters from Iwo Jima? They’re Clint Eastwood companion pieces about the Battle of Iwo Jima in WWII told from the American and Japanese perspectives respectively. The combined casts include Paul Walker, Neal McDonough (Buck from Band of Brothers) and Ken Watanabe. I probably should have recommended them before Veterans Day but maybe you’d be interested in putting them on a poll in the future. I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving Addie.
Scot Jebens
What film turned out the most different from what you were expecting? Was it a good or bad thing? What movie affected you the most powerfully? Have you ever been affected so much you paused the recording? Have you ever just stopped recording a reaction and never finished it? Why? What movie do you wish you hadn’t waited so long to see? What’s the one film you really wished you saw in a theater? Has YouTube ever blocked something so much you just gave up? Are there any ‘lost’ recordings you’ll never release? Some people like to swear when they mess up a take. What do you do? Have you ever been recognized somewhere? Was it fun, awkward, or ? Have you ever been asked for a signature? Have you been asked to collaborate with anyone? Who would you like to collaborate with? If I asked Editor Addie what Reactor Addie’s most overused phrase was, what would she say?
Scot Jebens
Related: What small bit from a movie pops up in your head the most frequently? Do you ever use catchphrases from the movies in your real life? (After my friends and I saw The Holy Grail, we spoke in lines from the movies for at least a month. In fact the whole school talked like that - it was pretty popular). Was there a movie where a famous phrase (“You can’t handle the truth”, “Don’t call me Shirley”, etc) popped up and you thought, ‘That’s where that’s from!’?
Scot Jebens
Would you consider letting Editor Addie do a movie reaction? It might be funny to have you do one where you’re sarcastically complaining about how much work this is all going to be, how much you don’t like the movie, how jealous you are of reactor Addie because of how easy it is to do reactions than having to edit it all, etc. Just super sarcastic. Maybe near the end, she just gives up and stops editing so we get to see Ollie running around with no one in the room, loud noises from outside that she leaves in. I’m sure there are tons of things that could be done! Or maybe as simple as Editor Addie doing the reaction and Reaction Addie doing the editing. It would let you show us some acting chops while having fun. — I realize I asked a lot of questions this month, please don’t think you have to answer them all, or any of them!
Scot Jebens
Come on people, we need places where we can get a respite from this stuff.
Cameron Kerby
I can’t even find some of your reactions on YouTube.
Cameron Kerby
Are all of the movies on your Letterbox available on Patreon as full length reactions. I tried searching for a few but sadly couldn’t find them.
Wreckingballryan
Have you rewatched Community since starting this channel? And did you get more of the references? After watching more movies the number of references is crazy.
Matthew Maxon
Any movies you thought you'd hate but loved & vice versa?
BareJordan
What are some of your favorite movies that you haven’t reacted to because you saw them before creating this channel?
Alex Tan
Agreed.
Byrd N. Hand
I don't think we need to get into that.
e4tless
Who did you vote for president?
Randolph Tirazona
There's no need to fear! Underdog is here! I'm guessing "Forrest Gump" (1994)
Byrd N. Hand
You want her be a pigeon carrier of carrier pigeons? 🤨
Byrd N. Hand
She seems to do about 2 a year -- "Pulp Fiction" and "Inglourious Basterds" last year, and "Kill Bill" and "Django Unchained" this year. I imagine we'll get "Reservoir Dogs" and "The Hateful Eight" next year, given they're his next most popular films. I'd love to see her do more Christopoher Nolan as well.
Phil Stubblefield
What was your favorite subject in high school or college *other* than something in the performance arts? Favorite class? Favorite teacher?
Byrd N. Hand
I fear she's going to say LOTR again... 🤔
Luis Fernandez
I'll also point out that a new season of Daredevil is quickly approaching. Would you consider DD Season 2? I love Jessica Jones but JJ S1 isn't required for DD S2 in S2 we get introduced to new characters that I know are going to be in the upcoming DD, so it is worth considering.
Luis Fernandez
This month's recs will be films set in Arizona (my home state): 3:10 to Yuma (1957, NOT the terrible 2007 remake), Raising Arizona (1987), U Turn (1997), and Only the Brave (2017).
Luis Fernandez
You are invited to a Thanksgiving celebration by your favorite movie stars, but the party is being held at the Overlook Hotel. Do you go?
Scot Jebens
If you could make a buddy movie with Ollie, what would it be about? What human actor do you think Ollie would want playing him?
Scot Jebens
What is your favorite movie scene (regardless if you liked the movie or not)? What was it about that scene that made it so special?
Scot Jebens
Q1: You can bankroll the making of a film based on a novel, a play, or about an historical figure or historical event. What would it be? Q2: You can bankroll the making of a film based on an event from your life. What would it be? Who is directing it? Who would play you?
Ronny Boss
Would you be willing to do a collaboration with another reaction specialist? I would love to see you colab with, Tara's Never Seen, Camilla's Corner, or Those Siblings.
Kyle Brandon Sanger
Would you react to any anime films in the future? I highly recommend 'Perfect Blue' from 1997.
Kyle Brandon Sanger
Hi Addie, have you watched any of the Toho Godzilla films? I think most of them are on YouTube. Congrats on reaching 100k!
Graham Watkins
Hey there Addie!! Congratulations on 100k. My question is have you ever thought about playing video games or reacting to cutscenes from games? I recommend starting with the Spider Man 2018 Game series.
Cameron Kerby
Congrats on 100k! My question is, where do you come down on the whole superhero movies aren’t “real” cinema debate?
Randolph Tirazona
Has Ollie eaten a Cheese Burger? How about other human foods? 🍔
Scot Jebens
Was reaching 100,000 subscribers on your bucket list? If yes, what's replacing it?
Scot Jebens
How are you and Editor Addie different? What would you say your relationship was? If she asked for help moving, would you do it?
Scot Jebens
African or European? Scratch that, I was thinking Swallows.
Scot Jebens
Each of your videos is like a happy little vacation I get to take with a friend. What's your idea of a perfect vacation?
Robert Durant
All I am going to ask Addie is do you ever plan on watching "Patriot's Day" starring Mark Wahlberg? I finally got around to watching it the other day and It's definitely a movie you would need to see all about the true story of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 and the capture of the terrorists behind it. Very emotional and tense.
Randolph Tirazona
Which film that you've seen had thee most impact upon you emotionally?!? 😆
Billy Dancel
Once again... Congratulations on reaching 100K YT subscribers! On to the questions. Seeing your Addie Counts neon sign lit up was a great touch for your first Livestream. It did not cause a glare, but we also didn't see the whole sign. Would you consider keeping it on for future videos? In the future after some more live streams, would you consider doing a live watch along? btw, I would be happy with one less reaction video if it meant a monthly live stream. With Thanksgiving coming around the time this AMA video comes up what are your top five favorite dishes? I'm going to jump ahead to Christmas. You've seen the popular A Christmas Story. Do you want to see how the story continues? Maybe by watching A Christmas Story Christmas? Take care of yourself, ADD-E!!
Cody Cameron
Since starting reactions what is the best memory you have that was able to happen due to starting the channel?
JesseConway
On an average day, how many pigeons do you think you could reasonably carry?
Troy Sinegal
Hello Addie. Do you plan on continuing your Quentin Tarantino series? There's about 4 more of his films
SR2 Prod.
I want to bounce this question off what somebody else asked about multi season shows, as I love the patreon incentive tier idea. Would you be willing to outsource an editor to edit the full length reactions to the shows which would free up even more time for you to so them?
Mathias
Apple or pumpkin pie?
Mathias
If you were sold as an action figure, which 2 accessories would you come with?
Andrew Storing
Would you please do a reaction to Karate Kid parts 2 & 3 even though I remember you saying you felt hesitant about it? Also who are your top 5 or top 10 favorite Star Wars characters in order?
Carlo Glingani
have you ever considered watching more foreign films? I'm from Italy and I would suggest you to watch "Life Is Beautiful" (1997), an Italian comedy-drama film set during World War 2
Thats MR. Baldamort
So my question is. (also an idea i hope you can consider) since so many of us want you watch multi seasonal shows. Please hear me out: I was wondering if you would be willing to do them, if you made them an added patreon exclusive incentive? Some reactors do this. They make multi season tv show reactions an added tier or they add them to an existing tier. As they only have to edit the full length reaction and not edit them for YouTube. This option would be the best to fit your schedule.
The Dingo
My bday is this week. What was your most memorable bday memory?
Carlo Glingani
Of all the official dog breeds existing, excluding mixed dogs, which is your favorite?
Byrd N. Hand
Outside of your spooky season and now DC polls, your polls seem to have mostly revolved around action, comedy, and/or sci-fi titles over the last several months. Could you offer up more fantasy, pure drama, pre-'60s movies, animation, sequels, more director-specific, and more actor-specific polls -- especially after Christmas??
Carlo Glingani
If you could get the power of any one of the superheroes from DC or Marvel, whose power would you choose, and why?
Doug
Hi Addie, you mentioned in the 100k livestream looking for some Thanksgiving film suggestions, so here's a few to consider: - Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), a Woody Allen comedy that takes place over a series of Thanksgivings - The Ice Storm (1997), an Ang Lee film starring Christina Ricci during a Thanksgiving weekend - Avalon (1990), a Barry Levinson film with an awkward Thanksgiving scene - She's Gotta Have It (1986), a Spike Lee film with a Thanksgiving dinner that includes three suitors vying for the host's affection - Scent of a Woman (1992), an Al Pacino film where he comes to a grim decision after a Thanksgiving holiday (My top suggestion here is Hannah and Her Sisters, it's a great film that won Woody Allen, Michael Caine, and Dianne Wiest Academy Awards!)
Major Peril
What's the best way of requesting movie titles for you to watch? How do you go about selecting the movies you react to?
SnakeandNape
I liked Agent Carter
KingGoji94
Since the 70th anniversary is this month any chance for Godzilla? Especially minus one? I will this into existence lol
Cole Trahan
I’m watching through your Marvel movies and shows currently and I’m noticing that you have a soft spot for Peggy Carter, (Caps ol’ girl, if you forgot.) Did you know there’s 2 seasons about what happened with Peggy after Cap passed in the 1900’s? There’s 2 seasons of a Show called “Agent Carter” I really enjoyed it. And no one really knows it exists either. You don’t have to react to it. But it’d be cool if you did. I think you would REALLY enjoy it! You could also watch it on the side if you’d like. They filmed the series in 2015 and 2016 with all the same actors. It’s really fun to watch:) (also, if you do consider watching it… there’s a “one-shot” episode that was filmed before the seasons started, it’s also on Disney+, its 15 minutes long, it’s called “Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter” I’d recommend to watch that before starting the series:)) you could make this all patreon exclusive 🤷🏻♂️
Alex Tan
Rapid Fire Questions 🔥🔥: Favorite Paramount Pictures movie franchise that was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Beverly Hills Cop or Top Gun? Favorite recurring gag from your recent live stream, cats, snakes, Rick, The Exorcist or Anaconda? Taco Bell or Pizza Hut? Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger or Ghostface? James Bond, Ethan Hunt, Austin Powers or Jason Bourne? Snakes, jump scares or people leaning? IMAX or Dolby Cinema? Favorite profile picture, YouTube or Instagram? Snakes, jump scares or people leaning? Starbucks Coffee or Sleepyhead Coffee? The A necklace, the butterfly necklace or the necklace with the two disc images of Titus & Ollie?
Future_Boy85
From the movies you've seen. If you could've acted in one of them. Which movie would you choose and which character/role would you have wanted to play?
Joe Cross
What book, musical, or play would you like to see adapted into a movie?
Alex Tan
What are you most thankful for, this year? If Austin Powers in Austinpussy with Tom Cruise as Austin Powers & Gwyneth Paltrow as Dixie Normus ever got made into an actual movie that's directed by Steven Spielberg, would you see it? I noticed that Last Action Hero (1993) is listed on your Letterboxd. Did you end up watching that movie on your own? If so, what did you think of it? If not, will you react to it for the channel? Do you know Karate? What kind of movie genre would you like to see Ariana Grande star in? I personally want to see her in a horror movie as the final girl and as a tough heroine in a Michael Bay style action thriller movie with a ton of explosions. In the intro of your reaction to A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), you did mention that you were never sleeping again after Ollie failed to protect you from getting nightmares. Were you actually able to sleep that night or were you still too scared to go to sleep because you couldn't stop thinking about the movie? Did you know that the original Top Gun (1986) was shot in the Super 35 film format to accommodate the physical stress that the cameras and lenses went through to shoot the dogfight scenes from the interiors of the fighter jets? It's explained on paragraphs 48-56: https://theasc.com/articles/flying-high-with-top-gun What are some movies that you actually enjoyed (either for the channel or on your own) that most people often disliked? Will you react to Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut (1999), with Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman, for Christmas? Now that you've seen a poster for the movie inside the Blockbuster Video in Captain Marvel (2019), will you react to Babe (1995) and its sequel, Babe: Pig in the City (1998), both with James Cromwell as Arthur Hoggett and Magda Szubanski as Esme Hoggett? In some of your previous 2024 Q&As, you did mention that Barbie (2023) was your favorite movie that came out last year. Was your enjoyment driven by the empowering message it sent or was it purely because of the fun and light-hearted tone it had? Speaking of Barbie (2023), here's a HOT TAKE QUESTION: Do you think the success of the movie would cause a blockbuster mentality in Hollywood, in which too many derivative chick flicks get made, or would it allow for more women to have a voice in the film industry?
