Get well soon Addie. A little trivia for 'Full Metal Jacket' without spoilers: Director Stanley Kubrick originally wanted ex Marine and drill instructor R. Lee Ermey to be a military consultant but he was so impressed by him that Kubrick gave Ermey a role, which he improvised most of his dialogue.
